I guess u r talking about the air launched brahmos.

Naval and land based brahmos is already in active service.

For the air launched brahmos, 42 SU30MKI is being modified structurally to allow carriage of the brahmos.

Brahmos-A weights 2.5 ton , so the central fuselage section which holds the mid section ( central ) pylon needs to be strengthened to allow carriage for 2.5 ton article.

Brahmos-A is the heaviest cruise missile to be qualified for launch from any fighter aircraft.

Waiting for the DRDO HSTDV test which uses a scramjet engine for attaining hypersonic speeds of around 7 Mach.

DRDO is also working on a dual mode RAMJET SCRAMJET propulsion system (DMRSPS).

4th picture is interesting , one can see the holdback bar temporarily restraining the aircraft so that it can built its maximum thrust for safe takeoff ( stimulating a carrier takeoff )

The landing gear of a carrier based aircraft is multiple times more stronger and resistant to adverse forces than of the airforce variant. Needless to say if a normal fighter attempts to do a landing on a carrier 99% times it will fail and even if it manages to land, it is guaranteed 100% that it's undercarriage will collapse completely from the impact force of the landing.

DRDO today test fired its HSTDV ( hypersonic technology demonstrator vehicle ) grin grin grin

The missile was test fired using an Agni-series missile off the coast of Balasore.

Afaik after US , Russia , Ind... is 3rd country to test scramjet for military applications.

ISRO already tested scramjet many years ago.

I hope the post I made yesterday gave the hint , without being smack right in the face

ISRO Radial Rib antenna (RRA) technology demonstrated in-orbit in the RISAT-2B spacecraft. This 3.6 metre antenna was folded & stowed during launch and later successfully unfurled & deployed in-orbit. The deployment was completed in 7 mins and 20 seconds.

RISAT-2B is a spy satellite.

Ind... to carry out its 1st-ever space war exercise in July.

After successfully testing an anti-satellite (A-Sat) missile in March and initiating the raising of a tri-service Defence Space Agency soon after, Ind.. plans to conduct its first-ever simulated space warfare exercise next month.

Named ‘IndSpaceEx’, the exercise will basically be a ‘table-top war-game’, with all stakeholders from the military and scientific community taking part in it, but it underlines seriousness with which Ind... is taking the need to counter likely threats to its space assets from countries like Chi...

“Space is getting militarised, as also contested and competitive. The main aim of the exercise, to be held in the last week of July under the aegis of Integrated Defence Staff of the defence ministry, is to assess requisite space and counter-space capabilities that are needed by Ind... to ensure we can protect our national security interests in this final frontier of warfare,” a senior official said

The country took the first step towards developing a credible counter-space capability under ‘Mission Shakti’ when it launched a 19- tonne interceptor missile to destroy the 740-kg Microsat-R satellite, at an altitude of 283 km in the low earth orbit (LEO), in a ‘hit-to-kill mode’ on March 27.

DRDO chief G Satheesh Reddy subsequently said Ind... was working to develop other counter-space capabilities like directed energy weapons (DEWS), lasers, EMP and co-orbital killers as well as the ability to protect its own satellites from electronic or physical attack as reported by TOI.

Since then, the new Defence Space Agency has begun to take shape by amalgamating the Defence Imagery Processing and Analysis Centre (Delhi) and the Defence Satellite Control Centre (Bhopal), with a two-star IAF general to be soon appointed to head it. “The agency will eventually grow into a full-fledged Space Command in the years ahead,” the officer said.

Two tankers attacked in Gulf of Oman — reports

Ships owned by companies in Norway and Singapore were reportedly attacked near the Strait of Hormuz. Diplomatic tensions are high in the region following attacks on four vessels last month.

The United States Fifth Fleet responded to suspected attacks on two tankers in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday.

"US naval forces in the region received two separate distress calls at 6:12 a.m. local time and a second one at 7:00 a.m.," the statement said.

"US Navy ships are in the area and are rendering assistance."

One of the ships involved was the Front Altair, a Norwegian-owned tanker that was being chartered by Taiwan's state-owned CPC Corp, the CEO of CPC's petrochemical division, Wul-Fang, told Reuters.

The ship was carrying 75,000 tonnes of naphtha, a petrochemical feedstock, "when it was suspected of being hit by a torpedo," he said.

A spokesman for Frontline, the company that owns Front Altair, told Norwegian newspaper VG that the vessel was still on fire and that all 23 crew members were safe after abandoning ship.

Singapore's BSM Management said in a statement that its Kokuka Courageous tanker had been damaged in an unspecified "security incident" while it was transporting methanol.

All 21 crew members abandoned ship and one member was slightly injured. The ship was not in danger of sinking, BSM added.

An Iranian port official also denied that one of the tankers attacked in the Gulf of Oman has sunk.

Iran calls reported attacks "highly suspicious"

The reported attacks come amid heightened regional tensions following attacks on four ships off the coast of the United Arab Emirates in May. The United States and Saudi Arabia blamed Iran, which dismissed the accusation.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the attacks "occurred while Japanese Prime Minister and Iran's supreme leader."

Zarif made a comment in a Tweet on Thursday saying: "Suspicious doesn't begin to describe what likely transpired this morning" without elaborating the statement.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe goes to Iran for the first Japanese Head of State official visit in over forty years, and Booom! Two ships apparently carrying “Japan-related cargo”, according to Japan’s Trade Ministry were torpedoed. grin

Tell me, why would Iran decide to attack two “Japan-related” tankers while the Japanese head of state is in their country? grin

Ofcourse!…....The Iranian government is so damned stupid that precisely when everything is ready to attack them they decide to go out and start "sabotaging" tankers to give the necessary excuse. grin

Sure, why wouldn’t the Iranians want to disrupt shipping in the Gulf so that they themselves are unable to move any of their product to customers abroad? grin

Makes as much sense as Assad gassing civilians in Douma, inviting global condemnation and western military attacks, because he has all but won the war against the western terrorist proxies. grin

Next thing we know, Amerika will be wanting to bomb that Iranian Novichok plant in Tehran (whose existence they just made up). grin

OR

Maybe we should ask Cui bono?

To whom might attacks on tankers in the Gulf be a benefit? grin

Iran? Well, only if they really really want the United Snakes of Amerika to attack them, which hardly seems likely.

Or could it be someone else?

The "F.aggot Chosen Children of Yahweh" happy in the knowledge that the hawks in Washington have been itching to start a war with Iran for years and definitely happy to lend a helping hand to get things underway. grin

In other words, the culprits were those that would like Amerika to attack Iran.

Saudi and/or Israel.

It’s hardly rocket science. grin

every sane person knows that is a CIA black ops .

Since the US is aware that Iranians still sells its oils through grey markets. The best is to stage a false flag op with the help of the Saudi's,emirate's and ofcourse the Israelis, to either invade Iran or seize, sabotage ,bomb any Iranian tankers

This video shows a Iranian Gashti Fast Patrol Boat removing one mine from the side of one of two oil tankers attacked near the Strait of Hormuz in the day. I think real professional combat divers would place the mines below the sea water line for maximum effect. Sailors on board the Kokuka Courageous, one of the vessels attacked, saw a flying object penetrating the hull without an explosion.

For those who r curious about the new national security architecture of Ind......

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCPHWCS4iHY

What is interesting is the inclusion of considerable numbers of ex spies and inclusion of technology relevant departments.

Most probably down the line in 5 years or so a DARPA like institution might be formed , actually demands r being made right now, but present capabilities don't meet the demand, so the hesitancy.
