Omoluabi16: The writer has a point. You know what ? The Igbos are Yorubas are not actually the problem. But on social media they attack themselves more than any one else. For instance, the herdsmen have killed Yorubas as well as Igbos. The woman who was killed in the North for preaching is Yoruba, and she's a Christian. But to say the truth, most people in the SW are quiet. Just too quiet. Voting Buhari is not a sin but that does not mean they should be quiet when things go wrong. It makes the president have "nothing can happen" mindset. Has the president said anything about the incessant killings of Christians ? No. Can anyone talk to him about the Chibok girls ? He won't give them audience. Have you been hearing Bakare or Soyinka speak ? No. Why are they silent ? . 5 Likes |

You don't have to fight to be a man. Also, noise does not make strenght. Some people call yourubas cowards but yorubas always have their ways, they call hausas cow, but d cow rule over them. Yorubas did not carry weapon against GEJ when he marginalised them to d admiration of some of his friends and tribe, am sure GEJ now knows better that his faith for second term was determined by yorubas. When they win, it is because they are a particlar tribe with affiliation to some lost tribe from Israel, when others win, they are betrayed. Onwuka can not launch yorubas into war. We can fight our battle while others should fight theirs without dragging others along. It is a lazy man that fails because of other peoples refusal to support his course. 5 Likes |

vislabraye:lol.. brother. Let's be logical here. Why should bakare speak? he's just a pastor who broke ranks with the CPC back in 11' he has been politically inactive. Wole soyinka has been one of the most vocal person about this administration.Who countered buhari on his non negotiable stance and other social issues? the prof did. As for christians killed it is solely the responsibility of us all to rally and stop this, don't pin it on the S/w alone. 3 Likes |

In my opinion, the problem is not that the majority of the afonjas are stupid or have been bribed, rather most south west states have leaders that are dead loyal to PMB,so whatever does not interest PMB will not interest them, the youths on the other hand are been advised by elders to keep their peac so as nt to strt a religious war.call it cowardice if u like, each mother jst wants her child safe 1 Like |

Handsomeemmy:You fail to add that recently riverine communities in Ikorodu LGA of Lagos State and some parts of Ogun State have been under siege by Niger Delta militants who have been on killing, kidnapping and destruction spree unchallenged. Rather than fight back at least with Ijebu charms, my people are packing their loads and relocating. What is the essence of having OPC, what are they doing, what usefulness are they serving to the South West especially at a time like these, rather they are looking for contract to guard oil and gas pipelines. Am ashamed oh! Let the truth be said. 1 Like 1 Share |

How did this topic get to FP? I'm disappointed in Mynd44 and lalasticlala. Why didn't the tribal and religious bigot of a writer draw our attention militants raping and kidnapping of women in the SW. The rate at which NL ops now allow tribal and religious zealots to use this forum to promote their hate theory is becoming obvious, putting at stake the integrity of the forum. |

The topic said: Something Strange is Happening in South West which is to say south west is not really known to be like this. Therefore Something is amiss. A good minded SW knows that this guy is on point. South West really need to ask themselves questions. Because Posterity will Judge Us All. I rest my case 2 Likes |

It's been difficult to raise this particular issue in a public forum without being perceived or branded an ethnic bigot. I am glad that someone finally brought this nagging question to the spotlight without all the accompanying hate speech and derogatory comments. Yes. Something has definitely happened to the southwest, and whatever it is, it's certainly an ill wind that would bring Nooo good. In just 4 yrs, between 2011 and 2015 , the the southwest rebranded an erstwhile colorless, unelectable satan into a shinning Messiah in silk robes, and have gone further to WORSHIP this self created Idol far more than any other person in the southwest. I always stand in astonishment when I hear some of the most ridiculous defenses my very enlightened southwest friends put up their new Messiah. It completely boggles my mind in no small way. Their attitudes and behaviors are akin to a religious Cult. And Bingo!! That might be. What I suspect is that apart from the Tinubu factor, the REAL factor that gives them that cult-like tendency is the Redeem Church Factor. The Redeem Church -Pastor Osinbajo- Daddy Adeboye factor. The choice of A Redeem pastor close to Adeboye was the cleverest political move ever by Tinubu. You see, this is something I have lamenting for a long long time. The mentally debilitating influence on IQ and rational thinking by religious cult leaders and charlatans like Adeboye and his army of brain surgeons in Nigeria in general, and the southwest in particular, are now coming home to roost. As a man thinketh, so he is. The Adeboyes, the Oyedepos, the TB Joshuas and their likes in the southwest, apostles of magical and irrational thinking, have turned much of the southwest into a big vegetable farm. Now, I am not insinuating that the southwest has lost their towering brainpower. Not at all. But for some inexplicable reasons, they seem completely subdued for the moment. I have never in my life seen the southwest Intelligentia so silent, so docile in face of absurdities and evil, after seeing them as the champions of social justice and vigilantes of democracy and the rule of law for much of my adult life. My dear southwest friends, please wake up. Nigeria and future generations need you to be awake at this trying times. 2 Likes |
