Source: http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/farmers-to-pay-fee-for-protection-ogbeh/156248.html ladies and gentlemen, The mafia is indeed in power. In this period of recession "non cattle"rearers will pay protection fees while cattle readers will be supplied with free land, imported grass and their ever handy AK 47 rifles. 114 Likes 22 Shares

In my opinion i think the farmers are self centered. Remember these herdsmen are Nigerians and they have the right to live and do their businesses any where in Nigeria. What's the big deal in allocating some portion of their farms for cattle grazing? If they were also rearing cattles, won't they graze them? The herdsmen are majorly the source of beef in the country and since everyone patronizes their meat, why can't we support the grazing bill so they can stop moving their cattles in the cities and instead have grazing fields? If every state creates grazing reserves don't you think it will limit clashes between farmers and herdsmen? I know there are bad eggs amongst the herdsmen but we can't throw away the baby and bath water. There has to be a compromise for the sake of peace. The farmers should be ready to pay for their protection since they are doing their private business. They are not expected to buy guns to protect themselves. The government will provide security if they are ready to pay. The fulanis are not violent people, let's stop the stigmatization of herdsmen 5 Likes 6 Shares |

Incredible! So Nigerian farmers have to pay the govt for security. And how much are Fulani herdsmen terrorists gonna pay Chai.... this is the most useless, deceitful, divisive, dangerous and directionless govt in our history. 212 Likes 19 Shares |

HEEEEEEY !!! I have just confirmed the madness of this APC led government. Just when you think they can't come up with any other stúpid idea, they bring a more hilariously stúpid one to entertain us. Oya o, farmers. The FG has just told you guys that if you don't pay protection money, you'll be kidnapped from your farms 138 Likes 14 Shares |

mrkayusfit: Are you Ok So killing/destroying other people farms/crops whilst doing their yeye business is sensible to you As per grazing bill let them create such reserves in their respective states excluding the south. 153 Likes 15 Shares |

I only recently realized that the owner of this handle is just out to have fun by making light of national issues. If that's your coping mechanism then feel free, else your zombeism has gone out of control. 145 Likes 15 Shares |

I am begining to belive that the diversification of the Nigeria economy is simply a lip service and the aim of Nigeria as a nation to feed itself is a mirage with the type of rubbish the government representatives are spewing out of their mouth. A country complaining of forex and thinking of importing grass from Brazil for the cattle rearer and commissioning 1000 security personells to protect the cattle rearers, while been silent about herdsmen killing farmers and destroying their farmland, with no paliative for farmers to increase their output, rather they want the farmers to pay for security to government.WHAT A SHAME APC. I believe for a man who took twelve years to prepare to be President and became the President after several trials should be abreast of the problem facing the nation and thus must be armed with cut edge solutions. 50 Likes 6 Shares |

mrkayusfit:There is a very big deal. The farmers bought their lands, they pay taxes (on the road to Min Of agriculture tax forces that are always on the road and in the market, to market masters). The primary responsibility of government is also to provide security for its citizens and you are asking them to pay So our security agencies are now for rent If ranching is working in other countries, why wouldn't it work here. It's a private business and should be taken care of privately. If you own a farmland and after your work, someone else come in there to destroy your sweat, you will understand that there's a big deal. 19 Likes 1 Share |
