FORMER PRESIDENT Olusegun Obasanjo and immediate past governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi are in trouble. They are pitched against the government of Rivers State for defaulting in payment of ground rent. The government has vowed to revoke such landed property if they decline payment within a stipulated period. Both men are among 376 individuals and companies owing Rivers State government ground rent running into several millions of naira. Others include, Gen. TY Danjuma, Gen. JT Useni, former acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus; former Governor Celestine Omehia; Agip Oil ltd and a host of top Nigerians and companies.
