actually , their cities were not really developed .... The Europeans only developed small portions for themselves and exclusive to them. And the rest rot from one slum to another..

Which colonial masters were in East Africa in 90s. Nearly all Africa countries got independence same time in 1960s.

West Africa, North Africa, Central and South Africa hit a mineral bonanza. Some countries made it count - South Africa/Botswana/Namibia/Magreb. Some didnt - Nigeria, Congo and Ghana.

East Africa - Kenya, Ethiopia, TZ, name them - got very little if anything in mineral resources - and for Kenya - even climate consipired against her - and Yet Kenya has done well.

West Africa should be as developed as anywhere in the world - but we know what happened. They went under military dictatorship, did not diversify the economy with minerals but allowed minerals to kill the existing industries..end results....huge mess.

You will never run out of excuses as far as the sun keeps rising from the east to set in the west. Look everywhere in Accra and there is an uncompleted building taking forever to complete. In fact I once described the features of a typical Ghanaaian street to be, a container, kiosk, an uncompleted building, sign posts then viola you have a CBD . The organized chaos you called street is the worse than cities with 22m inhabitants. If I am lieing post any video from any part of Ghana without this features .
