SaharaReporters can authoritatively report that the kidnappers who abducted Margaret Emefiele, wife to sitting Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele, are demanding N1.5 billion for her release.

SaharaReporters learned of these developments from a source with an intimate understanding of the delicate situation.

Mrs. Emefiele was abducted yesterday along the Benin-Agbor Road and her captors have been in communication with Mr. Emefiele. SaharaReporters has learned that in addition to Mrs. Emefiele, four other people were abducted including two other females, a male, and her driver.

It has also been learned that Mrs. Emefiele had a four-man police detail attached to her. However, when the police were confronted with the superior firepower of the kidnappers they ran away, leaving her and the other victims in the hands of the criminals.

Since her abduction, the kidnappers have been in constant communication with Mr. Emefiele, his representatives, and police negotiators. They are reportedly discussing the N1.5 billion ransom demand.

SaharaReporters also learned that the CNB is attempting to keep details of Mr. Emefiele wife’s abduction hidden from the media because it may scare off investors in Nigeria.

This economic recession don frustrate alot of people. So anywhich way they can, they try to make money, atleast to keep body and soul together.

It has been said over and over again that one day, the poor will have nothing to eat, but the rich.

This just might be the beginning of the fulfilment of that 'prophecy'

embarassed

May she return safe to her family.

Who in his right mind will dream of investing in Nigeria with Buhari in power?

I hope he wont pay the ransom with our scarce forex. Left for his somewhat innocent wife, I feel no sympathy for Emefiele, his stupid policies have sent so many Nigerians to their early grave this year.

The President's Body Odour seem not to permeate all angles of ills in the country eh?

These vices were expected to increase. The country is unable to handle the uprising security threats.

Since there was a grandplan to impoverish Nigeria, a significant investment should have been made in security as well to combat the negativity. Instead, the few around are being converted to private attack dogs.

It would have been nice to revel that the authorities are getting a dose of their medicine. But it's only a matter of time before the common man gets double dose the same fate.

This is sad that some nigerians have decided go into criminal activities in order to be relevant. Later they will say it is poverty that caused it. Where in this world is there no poverty? People do what they will naturally do when they have the opportunity . We are just so quick to put the blame on something or someone

May God keep her safe
