Hello, I use the account from my mother so that´s why her name is standing in the avatar wink

I´m half Nigerian because my dad is a Igbo and my mother is Dutch. My parents separated when I was 5 years old and my sister only 2 years. I´ve been several times in Nigeria and I can speek pitching english because my mother never pushed the Nigerian culture out of oure lifes. My mother can also speak a little Igbo and pitching english like a african woman; she even cookes sometimes garry and stew wink
But still I feel more Dutch than Nigerian, maybe because my dad left us and he never contacted us again?. My mother suffered a lot because she had to take care of us and that was not easy. My name tells everybody that I am a Nigerian but I am not really proud to be a Nigerian, than I have to be proud of all what my father did? and he only let us suffer embarassed

Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by Nobody: 3:12pm On Jun 17, 2007
I have been reading the thread so far and everyone is diverting from the point.

No one is asking if you are proud of being African or whatsoever.

I love being African but not Nigerian.

YOUNGDICE$:

it gets on my nerve when a lion said he aint proud to be from the jungle.

Keep the nerves to yourself.

This is even a reason why I prefer not to be proud of this country.

See you can't even accept that someone has different opinions from your!
Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by YOUNGDICEs(m): 3:43pm On Jun 17, 2007

youngdice

lions arent from the frickin jungle

and Nigeria is more savanna and desert than jungle. For chrissakes.

And people have a right not to feel proud of being from a place whose biggest export is 419
Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by YOUNGDICEs(m): 3:54pm On Jun 17, 2007

Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by dakmanzero(m): 4:46pm On Jun 17, 2007
"In relatively recent times the habitat of lions spanned the southern parts of Eurasia, ranging from Greece to India, and most of Africa except the central rainforest-zone and the Sahara desert."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion

Lions don't live in the jungle you bleeding idiot.

Tigers and leopards live in the Jungle. Not lions. Christ.
Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by YOUNGDICEs(m): 4:52pm On Jun 17, 2007
i don't care what you says lion is the king of naija sorry amin the jungle.
Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by dakmanzero(m): 5:00pm On Jun 17, 2007
Gorillas are the kings of the jungle you uninformed young twerp

They have big teeth and beat their chests and say 'awoo awoo awoo' like the spartans in 300

In fact, solid snake is the king of the jungle sef. Didn't you play metal gear solid three? "Solidu Snaku!!!! koko wa JANGURU da!!!!!"

Dont mind me, the jungle is full of Lions swinging from the trees like tarzan using their baseball-bat-like pen1ses. Hakuna Matata!!!!! No worries!
Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by YOUNGDICEs(m): 5:04pm On Jun 17, 2007
this movies are the reason why people think the hole africa is a jungle.
Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by dakmanzero(m): 5:10pm On Jun 17, 2007
But you arent helping,by saying things like 'if he is not from the jungle is he from the city?!'

Lions stay in the savannah mostly. They prefer grassland where they can go after zebra, and where they can hang around swamps.

Much of Africa is not jungle (rainforest). In fact in Nigeria you only find the rainforest in the deep south/south west

Are you from Nigeria? If you are why not learn more about it?

dakmanzero:

Nigeria's biggest export has never been and will never be 419. From your point of view I can recognise that you are not a Nigerian, and do not know much about the country.
Re: Are You Proud To Be A Nigerian? by dakmanzero(m): 6:09pm On Jun 17, 2007
lol.

chill out dude. I'm Nigerian. But tell me, is Oil the first thing that comes to people's mind when they hear the name 'Nigeria'?

Have you looked at passport control's faces when they learn you are 'Nigerian'?

dude. Those that are not proud of being 9jans have a point.

Personally, I'm only proud to be Nigerian cos Naija kicks the arse of any other African Nation. Better to be from here than somalia

I'm sorry to hear that Inky. Most likely he only wanted to get papers or whatever from your mom. I don't blame you for not being proud of being half Nigerian.  sad
Same thing happened to Sophie Okenedo the actress, Nigerian father, English mother, father left after a few years and her mom raised them all on her own yet when Sophie was nominated for an oscar for Hotel Rawanda, that's when her father decided to come back and claim paternity. Disgusting  angry

That's one of the many reasons why I just don't understand why women of other countries would even get involved with these men. It's one thing if he's a legal resident of that place but when he's not, PLEASE just stay away.
