Glory Ogbonna is a Left Back..

Esther Okoronkwo is still out recovering from a knee injury, that’s why she wasn’t invited..

Patricia George wasn’t invited..

Michelle Alozie is Coach Randy Waldrum first choice Right Back even though she’s originally a forward. She’s getting better with more game time. And again there are other options in the Right back position.. Nicole Payne.

Osinachi Ohale, Tony Payne can also be deployed there…

Charity Adule making the list would have been a Shock to me.. either in Midfield or Attack.! Her performance for the Superfalcons right from the Turkish Cup down to the Summer Series haven’t been impressive…

I think he's talking about the U20 women
AkinDS:
Why?
So that they can put themselves at risk for injuries, thereby weakening the overall strength and squad depth? Absolutely not!!

The team has played more grade A friendlies than any of the other WAFCON finalists. The coach already knows the selected players in and out.

What’s left is low impact strategy and training sessions, which is what they are currently doing.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 1:53pm On Jun 25, 2022
If that’s the case, then my bad!
Was thinking SuperFalcons, as the other competitions are still months away.

Again, my bad!

Agree. She hasn’t really stood out for me either.

Also think Monday Gift was incredibly fortunate that both Esther Okoronkwo and Desire Oparanozie were no-shows, as there is no way she would have made the squad.

Great point… Esther Okoronkwo is among Superfalcons top5 strikers right now..

I really want to see how the SA and rest team face the likes of Ifeoma Onumonu, Rasheedat Ajibade, Tony Payne, Ashleigh Plumptre and few others as they weren’t available for the Aisha Buhari Cup last year… Even Experience and Strong defender Osinachi Ohale wasn’t around too…

Christy Ucheibe another player..
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 8:22pm On Jun 25, 2022
Hope this will be a good coming out party for Christy - I really liked her performance against Canada, especially in the second half, as she looked quite the part.
With the return of Halimat Ayinde, I think we might just have the strongest and most complete midfielders we have ever had at a tournament.

Will really miss Esther Okoronkwo - she would have exploded in this tourney. Wish her speedy recovery.

The Cameroonians were quiet quick on the transition from defence to attack. They just lacked the quality to see things through. The French were also quiet too much for them. If they play like this in their group games and just ensure Aboudi Oguene starts, then it would be difficult for Zambia and Tunisia against them.

2022 AWCON: We Are Ready For Super Falcons - South Africa Coach

Head Coach of Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Desiree Ellis, said they are ready to confront Nigeria's Super Falcons, BSNsports.com.ng gathered

Both teams will come face to face in the opening group C slated for Rabat in Morocco on the 4th of July.

The team which arrived in Morocco on Wednesday had their second training session on Friday morning and coach Ellis was impressed with the drive and enthusiasm showed by the players.

“We were welcomed warmly when we arrived at the airport. We are coping very well and there has been so much enthusiasm and drive at our training session,’’ said Ellis.

“The closer we get to our opening game the more we get into more detail. We show the players footage and try to break it down.

“We are still working on a lot of things and we have the footage for the players to see who they are up against and work on different areas on the field,’’ concluded Ellis

You’re right though but the French didn’t start their main 11players but a mix of few regular and others..
