The Nigerian Falconets need a goalkeeper to make it through the tournament. Nigeria has been lucky with this goalkeeper. 2 Likes |

At this stage, Goalkeeper Monle Omini is the team weakest link, infact the major problem… I’m still wondering why she’s this shaky after being in goal all through out the qualifying games down till this stage…. |

Our goalkeeper might end up costing us in this tournament |

Why is this coach playing Florish when we are 2 goals up and we have already qualified for the next stage. |

carbonado: Really can't make sense of some of the coach's decision. Why keep Onyenezide/Demehin on the pitch and risk missing then in the quarter finals. Alani too just got carded, it is his job to protect this players. Also a little concerning we haven't scored from open play 3 Likes |

codemaniacs: Yea. Glad we did. On a positive note though, we seem to be doing well defensively. But for the early mistake by the goalkeeper, we probably will be going into the knockout stages with a clean sheet. We however need to work on our offense. We are not as lethal as we have the potential to be. 3 Likes |

Another dominating performance from the falcons... Going forward,we need to utilize our chances more... Scoring late into the game seem to have become a norm that shouldn't be.. As for the goalkeeper, let's hope she doesn't end up costing us in this tournament... 4 Likes |

Imuran by far the best player on the pitch today. A master class in left back defensive and attacking play. My woman player of the match! 5 Likes |

lovewins: Improved pass accuracy. However, the ratio of shot played vs shot on target is quite worrisome (22 shots and 6 on target). We had some pretty good crosses into Canada's box but were mostly wasted – Okuchukwu is a culprit here. They need to practice more on their final balls. And yes, I love how the coach give out order in languages they understand easily, although very loud. Who heard the Buga song after the third goal? 5 Likes |

CornOak: Haven't taken a look at the stats, but 6/22 is concerning. And yes Ikechukwu bungled a lot of chances. She should have had at least 2 goals today. I'll however cut her some slack. |

To be honest, there is a reason why I am yet to single out Omini for any special praises in my analysis of the players' showing at the WC so far and well, yesterday showed why yet again. Yes, she has made a few important saves and even did so once yesterday vs Canada but her shakiness really leaves me not convinced about her. The truth is Demehin, Oshobukola and co have been doing a yeoman's (abi na yeowoman's) job protecting her from truly dangerous shots on goal. Their cover for Omini needs to be EMPHASIZED and brought more into the light. Our defence is really disciplined and good. So good that the first goal we conceeded came only when Omini forgot how to pass the ball and not via any defensive errors via the outfield players. I just hope they keep providing that cover and I hope the coaches really get Omini back in the composure game because we cannot allow slip-ups like that vs the Netherlands. In all, our girls showed character staying calm, playing their game and rallying back to save Omini's blushes. Good show from the girls. Deltamani: 2 Likes |
