Matters of the heart they should be handled with care.
I have this friend of mine who has fallen a double victim of both acquantant and assistant boyfriend.
He met and became very close with a girl at their office. They became confidants, communicates freely and do virtually everything in common.

With the level of their closeness, colleagues in the office environment even assumed they were dating. Eventually the guy developed feelings for her and approached her for a relationship, only for the girl to tell her that she is in love with someone already.

The guy's emotion was completely shattered. He tried his best to maintain his cool, but kept his friendship with the girl at bay. In a bid to move on he approached another female colleague from another section of the office for friendship.

The girl agreed but later declined and call off the friendship as she was having sense of insecurity because of the other girl's interference, and the guy was so frustrated. According to him he had no other option than to rekindle his platonic/friend zone friendship with the former girl with hope that with time both of them will get along pretty good.

The truth is that he has grown to love the girl beyond his own expectation and occasionally the girl's actions and gestures towards other guys changes his mood.
Subsequently, each time the girl is having issues with her boyfriend she falls back on the guy for emotional succour and advise.

But just like windblow, what the guy had not hoped for to happen became reality: the girl eventually break up with her boyfriend, and yet still reluctant to give the guy a chance. Currently the girl seem to be crushing on another guy and getting along with him, and all the efforts to make the guy to leave the girl has proven abortive. Could this be love? You friend never understand women. They re like cats; they never go to the person who willing showers them plenty attention. They rather go for the one who seems out of reach.

Anyday he decides to control his emotions as a man should and start using his head, then she will come running to him
