– The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese Matthew Kukah on Monday, October 31, visited a former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission

– Others visited by the Bishop include former junior minister of defence Musiliu Obanikoro and ex-presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati

– Bishop Kukah encouraged and prayed for the trio who were in detention

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese Matthew Kukah on Monday, October 31, visited a former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja.

A source within the commission told NAIJ.com the bishop arrived at the commission’s headquarters at about 1 pm on Monday.

Kukah also visited the former junior minister of defence Musiliu Obanikoro and Reuben Abati, a former presidential spokesperson to Goodluck Jonathan.

Fani-Kayode, Abati and Obanikoro are currently being held by the EFCC for monies received during the 2015 general election.

The source told NAIJ.com that the Bishop who was accompanied by the EFCC’s chairman Ibrahim Magu spoke in kind word to the trio.

It was also gathered that the Bishop prayed for the trio.

“He spoke very kindly, he also prayed for and with them (Fani-Kayode, Obanikoro, Abati) and encouraged them to be strong as these are trying times for them,” the source said.

The EFFC detention facility is now a tourist site. The other day was the deputy senate president, today is Bishop Kukah. Tomorrow might be an Iman or Ifa priest or Ezemo.

Ps-Oga Magu is a typical example of what a "civil servant' should dress like, modest 15-20k suit and 5-8k shoes not those "official criminals" wearing 3million naira watch, 10k dollars suit and 5k dollars shoe angry

At least, they can confess their sins to the Bishop/FG so they can probably make it to heaven if they eventually die in there. FFK was almost gone the other day.

Dear Bishop, I hope you told em to confess their sins to Nigerians and stop misleading the court by providing flimsy excuses. During their tenures, huge amounts were budgeted to em but were are the results, instead it's decaying structures and misappropriation of funds; so yes they are guilty. Luck em this is not China as they would have been having their last meal instead of useless rants.

Ps: this applies to all our politicians be it APC, or PDP. I don't support any political parties as they are the banes of our problems today.

Hmmmm this is just emotional and strange at the same time. If the detained politicians really want to be free, they should return looted funds and simply do a prayer of Thanksgiving for the wisdom and good heart to do so.

I will rather prefer Rev. Father Kuka to visit the small prisons like kiri kiri where common men are kept to save their soul since Christianity is all about saving souls and not engaging themselves in solidarity visits of unrepentant sinners !!! cool
