Nov 9, Guinea treasury chief Aissatou Boiro was gunned down as she was driving home in Conakry. She had launched an investigation into the loss of 13 million francs ($1.8 million) which went missing from the state coffers. On Dec 28 officials said they had arrested two suspects in the case.
