Some people don't know the true story that Sanusi took the opportunity to revoke the banking licence of Intercontinental Bank due to Vendetta of Akingbola (former MD/CEO of Intercontinental Bank) not collaborating with him on a big transaction when he was MD of 1st bank! Also the fact that Akingbola had this larger than life Attitude towards bank MDs

Please Akingbola started Intercontinental Bank with a few people from 1 branch at Onikan to proliferate into over 300 branches how come they used Access bank that had less than 100 branches to take over Intercontinental with 400 branches and more revenue thAn Access Bank!? Does it not beat your imagination? It became too Obvious as at that time because Aig-Imoukuedhe (former MD/CEO of Access Bank) was very close to the government of the day From Yar-Adua till Obasanjo,and the former Emir of Kano and Sautan of Sokoto to lobby the federal government to give Bank CEOs 6 months to handover "power" and merge Intercontinental Bank with Access bank with spurious allegations of misappropriation of funds and Bad Loans to stifle the owners of banks people that put together their hard earned life money investment to a full stop,drag them to court for Embezzlement.

Akingbola and a few people came together to finance and established the Bank, they should earn from where they Invested their money,intellect, time and Energy Bible says "U must reap where u sow" Sanusi was just envious of how deposit and assets of Intercontinental and Oceanic Banks became bigger than that of 1St Bank that's far older than the 2 of them,how can banks with less than 100 branches take over (or Buy) banks with well over 350 branches?!
