I was in your shoes too my brother. I finished ma OND from yabatech with a strong upper credit and I tried DE 3 times. Due to what I heard abt this so called discrimination and wat I saw while in GTB for ma IT made me wow never to go back for HND. Am currently in 300l osun state university. Never give up. You can go for PT if FT doesn't work out.

Or better still, u should apply for any university accredited part time programme and save ursef the stress of taking jamb and starting from 100l when u can begin from 200l in any university accredited to run a part time programme. some university part time form available is Uniosun.

Get it straight. Its not a 6 months Degree. We convert your HND results into a Bachelor Degree which could take 1 - 6 months[size=20pt] if you pay up[/size] and finish your project within those months.

HND is 4/5 years while B.Sc is also 4/5 years. Hope this helps

My confusion with your option is that - Is it really a top-up programme or a degree conversion programme? If the latter, how would it reflect on my transcripts if I decide to further my education?

Let me make it clear for you, if you have HND we will convert your HND and Transcripts into a Bachelor Degree and if you have OND, NCE you will be made to do a Bachelor Top Up programme. Hope this prove useful?

Four years ago, I was in your shoes.

I had an HND(Distinction) in accounting and ACA.

The discrimination was just too much. My friend told me the painful truth. He ask me to go back to school for a Bsc in Accounting.

I thought of this, with children school fees to pay, family to feed and cloth and other important financial responsibilities to meet, how could I possibly add another responsiblity of paying university school fees for myself. It wasn't an easy decision.

In 2012, then i was 38 years, i took a bold step that is later to be one of the important decisions of my life. I enrolled for a Bsc accounting in Anambra state university.

It was not an easy journey, but the support i got from my wife made things a whole lot easier. I completed the program in December 2015 after 4 years of struggle. I collected my statement of result in September 2016. The good thing is that i finished with First Class (honours).

Today, as I am typing this, I am gainfully employed with my Bsc result. By next year, God willing, I will start my MSc in Accounting.

Sir, the truth is that you need a Bsc if ever you want to be a lecturer. MBA is not an accademic masters and as such is not recognised in the academic environment.

In my class during the Bsc days, I had a coursemate who is older than me and who came in with the following qualifications: HND, PGD, MSC, ACA, ACIT. Yet he came back to do Bsc.

On a final note, NEVER LET AGE STOP YOU FROM ACCOMPLISHING A NOBLE IDEA.

my advice to you is this, try as much as possible to finish with a first class. It will not be easy but it is achievable.
First class is the only thing that will compensate for doing Bsc at this age.

I was able to make a first class because I was determined. in the early part of the program, I made sure I scored the maximum points.

Remember that I did HND in accounting, so from level 200 to 400 I maintained a cgpa of 4.89. my worst result was in 500l. Finally, I finished with 4.7 as earlier stated.

As at today, there is hardly any company I apply to that doesn't invite me for interview.

The only point of disagreement has always been during negotiations.

Currently, I have over 14 years experience in accounting function.

My only, deficiency which I want to start working on is lack of good comportment during public speaking. The reason is quite obvious, I was a book worm during my poly and uni days.

I hardly socialise. A friend has introduced me to toastmasters and I want to check them out this weekend in their Ikeja branch.

finally, you won't regret going for Bsc.

Its advisable you add your HND after PGD. The two qualifications should be indicated on your CV.


E.g.,

Obafemi Awolowo University - 2015
PGD in Business Management

Yaba College of Technology - 2013
HND in Business Administration

You can easily practice Human Resource Management with your business if you have people working for you. HRM is very vast, without organization, people and resources, you cannot practice HRM.

You may have to locate organizations or get a job where you can function in the HR Dept. HR needs practice and that is where you get most of your experience from.

Most HR positions requires a lot or some working experiences. But you can include your ''Self Employment'' work history on your CV so that it can look attractive.
