Where were you 16 years ago when Lagos was in a big mess? Owing civil servants for months. Where were you when Federal allocation to Lagos ceased?
Lagos is a model other states are ashamed to imitate. Osun is another messy state that almost got economically liberated before nemesis of previous poor governance caught up with them.
Talk about the South-South states, their leaders are skilled in looting common wealth.
So, stop the excuse of Lagos being tge state with the highest IGR as an excuse for your state not doing well because your IGR is not like that of Lagos.
The major difference is that Lagos has a dream while most other states don't.
But watchout for Anambra and Ogun state.
Lagos is an area deliberately curved by FG to be the way it is. if the governors aren't looters, Lagos would have been a masterpiece city due to its huge revenue .other states are not supported by FG's special intervention and infrastructure in Lagos, the nation's choice and well financed airports are in Lagos, Seaports are there but other states are not given such previlage .I think it is wrong and unfair to compare Lagos with other states.

I agree with some of ur points, but lagos is a majorly fortunate state compared to others and thats chiefly due to its location in the con3. It is d inlet and outlet of the con3 due to the sea.
.
Most companies in the niger delta prefer to invest and locate their head offices in lagos because it is easier for them to pack up n leave incase of emergency like recession.
.
That been said,
Lagos is also very fortunate to have good leaders even though they also steal as exposed by ambode.

Welcome to modern metropolitan life. You should check out the situation in London , Central New York Manhattan , San Francisco just to mention a few ,even Dublin where I reside has become rather expensive in the last few years

How do you cope?.
Is this not going to send average people back to the creeks and inner cities?.

Shouldn't the goal be to make life easier for citizens rather than frustrate them out of it.

The only way to cope is to work hard and earn a good wage. And not use all hands to eat as the Yoruba say.

It is a good opportunity for ogun state which has more land and is bothering Lagos to build settlements which are within commuting distance to Lagos.

If the rail system works there is no good reason not to work on in Lagos and reside in sagamu even ibadan. High speed train between Lagos and ibadan should not be more than 45-50 minutes
