InvertedHammer:Do you have one? Let me tell you a bit about my idea. During my master's program in the UK, the least amount I make is 350 per week without overtime. So, you can do the calculation for one month. I pay 270 per month for rent with utility inclusive. As for transportation, I pay 38 per month (bus pass) to anywhere within the city. Mind you, the food is very cheap. Even if you are gluttony, you should not spend over 150-200 on food for one month. Remember, this is just the last job for non-professionals. Now, coming home, which menial job can make you live an average life, that is obtainable, as equate to a nonprofessional job here? Maybe you have a different experience as myself or an idea, am waiting. 14 Likes |

FrankNetter:/ You are like a first time visitor to a big city. You are still enamoured of all the glittering and fancy buildings forgetting that all that glitters is not gold. When you settle in and join the rat race, your opinion in the first-five years will be different. Btw, I don't need to hide under any phantom moniker to express an opinion in a public forum. \\ 20 Likes |

guiddoti:/ The sad part is that some of you that venture out in search of greener pasture keep comparing your new lifestyles to that of the poor in Nigeria. Let's assume that you really stepped up the game, now look back and figure out who should be comparing yourself with. I have seen unbelievable poverty in Nigeria and US. Poverty is poverty. There is poverty among professionals and non-professionals alike. If by providence you make it, thank God for providing you with the opportunities. It has nothing to do with your invincibility. There are people who make more money than you but live far worse because they lack understanding of money management. So numbers do not mean much. I am not trying to knock anyone down but each individual has a different definition of success. $10k a month may be big money for some whereas some folks will file for Chapter 7 on such income. Such is life. \ 13 Likes 1 Share |

InvertedHammer: Inverted Hammer, let us out this way. In Nigeria today, what is the percentage of people who can pay for a house (of any size o) and a good car from "out of pocket like that" and not borrow in one way it the other? I bet you the highest figure it will be is 10-14% Poverty and wanton hopelessness is real in Naija... All you need to do is visit half the number of States or more in Nigeria (like I have) then you will get the idea that when IMF says a certain percentage lived under a certain amount per day, they are not exaggerating.... Visit Osun, Yobe, Kogi, Kwara, and even Zamfara sef, and you go see. Then in Abuja/Lagos there are other places you can go check out. So that your analogy still get as e be 7 Likes |

I wish there's a way FrankNetter can censor this thread in such a way that u'll need his approval before u can comment, in that way if u wanna write rubbish and derail this thread, he can gut ur a**es. D imps derailing this thread can actually create theirs but won't, coz they've got nothing to offer other than wait for someone else to create theirs and they'll rush to crap on 'em. @FrankNetter, pls continue with wht u're doing, d positive pple here are greater than d negative. U're doing a great job. @TWoods.. Dnt argue with anyone anymore. Leave them to their wits. @progress69.. Pls dnt argue again. Opinion varies, so pls, let it go. We're really enjoying this thread. 12 Likes |

InvertedHammer:in that case you are wrong... You cannot compare yourself with someone else because there are alot of other factors that contribute to "wealth" and not just location rather you should compare yourself with when u were in Nigeria an when u changed location because every other factors remains constant only your location changes that way you can effectively get the merits and demerits of your migration...... Please analyze properly before talking because whatever you say in a public forum influences alot of lives 6 Likes 1 Share |

CanadianNurse:/ It goes both ways. What some couldn't achieve in Nigeria, they achieved abroad. Conversely, some couldn't cope abroad, returned to Nigeria and the sky couldn't limit them. Success could come from Nigeria or across the border. It still boils down to one's definition of success. There are people who are very comfortable financially in Nigeria that migrating to anywhere else is not an option. There are Nigerians who are too broke overseas that returning to Nigeria is not an option. No matter where you live, the rich and the poor will always be among us be it in Canada, US or Nigeria. There are Nigerians in Canada that are broke as a joke. What happened? \ 12 Likes 2 Shares |

InvertedHammer:I guess, you have no clue all together. I expect you to tell me your idea to why my initial post has no idea. I told you my experience, you are talking about success. It may interest you to know that the resources will have in Nigeria is enough to make this country great. What we have as resources, UK has no 60% of it, yet, things are working. If you have been reading my comments, am only concerned why things are not working. I should compare, why? because when I look around, we are more blessed than those countries. yes, poverty is poverty. There are poor people in the UK. Most of the poor people here are either lazy to invest, reserve and plan for future. In fact, they are mostly non professionals. yet, government provides stipend for these set of people. Bro, if you know the glory Nigeria carry, you will start comparing her with these developed nations. Nigeria is not poor, only if you think within you we are poor nation. 14 Likes |

Ademat7: I dont see any critics bro, what exaclty are they criticizing? How I should live my life? The beauty of this thread is that I'm anonymous.
