hi ya'll ad like2 share a story that happened in my neighborhood.recently , a taxi driver brought a lady freind to a motel(lady turned out to be the taxi driver's neighbhors wife)nt long after they go in,the woman rushes out half naked screamin, people around grab her and in tying to discover why she is hysterical they inquire about her partner who is later discovered in the room naked and panting.he dies a few short moments after this.It turns out that the husband to the said woman had been warning hes wife repeatedly over her extremely promiscious nature and went and cococted the jazz as an insurance policy.which ended up claiming the life of hes equaly philandarous neighbhor, issue is Nairaland users until this incident happend i was an astute non believer in such things undecided, what do you guys think??
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by Seun(m): 5:47pm On Jan 09, 2007
I think the man had a heart attack and that's why he died.
Sex is a stressful activity and can easily trigger a heart attack.
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by toyboy1(m): 5:53pm On Jan 09, 2007
heard so much abt this "myth" for quite a long time now, heard abt people crowing like cock, somersaulting, glueing together et al b4 dying. even films were made on it. to me its a myth n nuttin more. i dont believe in it n do not believe it works.

I will ask you one question:
are u a witness  at the scene or u heard stories/jist/ rumours

one man dying in a hotel room doesn't validate the existence of magun, other reasons could be attributed to the death.
Simple. shikena.

i believe it's possible, after all i've heard enough stories of jazz being made to make a man run mad - unless u guys don't believe that either, i once saw a woman strip down naked in full view (okay i didn't acsually see her strip but her clothes could be seen on the floor and she walked across the road butt naked, everyone was staring at her, i just walked away nyself, later on as i passed by i saw that she had put in her clothes and seemed to be in control of her faculties ? (must have been very embarassing for the woman); now if that's not spiritual, what is it?
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by Nobody: 6:43pm On Jan 09, 2007
Ive heard abt it, and i havent seen/witnessed it so i dont know if its true or not.
But i have a STRICT policy which is never to volunteer myself as a guinea pig, for any strange schizzle grin
So married women are strictly hands-off for me, except if magun can be applied to single sistas,
then we might all be in trouble then!! cheesy

Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by Ynot(m): 7:03pm On Jan 09, 2007
I don't believe in magun and i don't do married women either. Yes, sex, in of itself COULD kill you. Do you know what the human body goes through when you have sex? Pupils dilate, arteries constrict, core temperature rises, heart races, blood pressure skyrockets, respiration becomes rapid and shallow, the brain fires bursts of electrical impulses from nowhere to nowhere, and secretions spit out of every gland, and the muscles tense and spasm like you're lifting three times your body weight. It's violent. It's ugly. And it's messy. And if God hadn't made it UNBELIEVABLY fun, the human race would have died out eons ago.

Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by bagoma(f): 9:42pm On Jan 09, 2007
i have never seen with my own eyes but i've heard stories,
the closest i came to witnessing a case of "magun" was some years back, i was passing by a police station and saw hundreds of people gathered while the policemen tried to disperse the crowd, on enqiury as to what was going on,
i was told a man and a woman were carried in to the station that they 'glued' together during sex.
i didnt see them with my eyes but i believe it does exist.
yes i believe it does.
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by elpapi(m): 10:56pm On Jan 09, 2007
I think its sad, that the issue of adultery shld cross ones mind in the first place, then to have 2 worry abt magun.
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by justkunmi(m): 11:49pm On Jan 09, 2007
magun exists. majorly in the yoruba setting. when a man suspects his wife is promiscuos, he charms her and if it is tru, her lover dies.
its meant to be precautionary. not to kill. people die if the allegation of adultery is true
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by chimaze(m): 2:27am On Jan 10, 2007
I don't see anything wrong if a man or woman decides to protect his or her property. Any Man or Woman who sleeps with somebody else’s partner deserves what ever comes to him or her.

I wish we’ve got a juju that we can lace on our politicians so that they would die or run mad if they ever embezzle any money. If this happens Nigeria will be like Dubai in 10yrs time.
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by rikkyjen(m): 3:05am On Jan 10, 2007
Abeg, Magun is a figment of people's jaundiced imagination. People have always talked bout it, but Tunde kelani's film further fuelled the BS. We are about 66 ooo people on this fora, can any body say he/she knows anyone who has witnessed it. Am not talking bout it happening to someone's cousins neighbours uncle's grandmother's houseboy. If anyone believe Magun exists, then you should be tested for Mental Halitosis  sad

Magun or No Magun, I'm not a randy ass. 'em advise is for the raunchy and the galactically stupid. So far no one can come out and pinpoint or narrate this fiat of a magun, i stand on my point. Its purely unsubstantiated! smiley
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by toyboy1(m): 8:54am On Jan 10, 2007
wat u believe works for you. i ve never at any point in time believed in the reality or efficacy of magun
or watever name it goes by.
i ve never seen a direct witness to the "works" of magun in my entire life. All i ve heard are third/ fourth versions of the stories.
i totally support the views of rikkyjen - "its purely unsubstantiated" and an overbloated myth for that matter.

Just a while ago, people were accused of stealing privates using diabolical means- another unfounded rumour. i dont ve problem understanding the fact that that people are kidnapped and their privates cut off for ritual purposes, but for privates to disappear thru mere touch or handshake is purely the creation of rumour mills eventually peddled by monegers. No single case was heard of in police stations, hospitals nor courts same for this magun trash.

In essence, stay off married men/women, lot of singles abound out there to fill ur fantasy. i think thats just the objective/aim of rumuor peddlers

I would like to believe that this is REALITY.
Actually, i know that it happens.

I mean there are people who do juju all the time in Nigeria. What would it take for a man to put juju on his wife so that any man who sleeps with his wife would die?

But i know that it's something that can definitely be washed off, just like all other juju-ness.

It's one thing to know that things like this happen, and it's another to say that it won't happen to you because God is on your side. But lets face reality, these things do happen.
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by funkydiva(f): 9:58am On Jan 10, 2007
I think there's alot of mystery in this world. and for a balance to exist, there has to be evil to compliment Good. Even in the history books, when africans were taken as slaves, the intorduced the white man to different aspects of their culture like dance, herbs and voodoo. I studied history in school so i know for a fact that while the white man borught xtianity to africa we exported voodoo.

Thus you have to recognise the presence of traditional priests and witches and wizards etc. Magun is totally possible. And its an effective remedy for promiscuous men and women.

Weird! This is a joke, rite?
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by tenhap(m): 12:36pm On Jan 10, 2007
I believe it exists for 2 reasons, if nothing more:

1: I witnessed 1st hand a native doctor chant incantations and clear a piece of land. At each stroke of the matchet, the intended target (a cockerel) spasmed in agony. By the time the portion was completely cleared, the cockerel was dead! This  i saw myself.

2: In my childish ignorance, i was party to 'spinning the bible' sometime in secondary school (the Good Lord forgive me). I SAW the bible spin myself!!!

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF GOOD OR EVIL!!

I HAVE SEEN MAGUN(THUNDER BOLT) KILL AT CLOSE RANGE INFACT THE MAN DIED IN MY PRESENCE,IT WAS A VERY NASTY EXPERIENCE WHICH I HAVE TRIED TO BANISH FROM MY THOTS.ALTHOUGH I CAN NOT GO INTO VIVID DETAILS OF WHAT HAPPENED,I SINCERELY BELIEVE MAGUN (THUNDER BOLT) REALLY EXIST AND THIS WAS A RECENT EXPERIENCE,IT HAPPENED LAST MONTH.
ALTHOUGH A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE IT ONLY EXIST IN T.V DRAMAS AND HOME VIDEOS(YORUBA FILMS) BUT MOST OF THIS MOVIES ARE BASED ON FOLKTORES,INVARIABLY SOME OF THIS THINGS EXIST.SO THE BEST THING  TO DO  AS A YOUNGMAN AND WHO IS SINGLE! IS TO DO ONLY SINGLE GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by feelgood(m): 5:34pm On Jan 10, 2007
Magun- yoruba for 'dont climb' - is a caveat against adultery esp with another man's wife (not aware of any concerning another woman's husband)
There are 3 classes of magun: spiritual, physical & moral.
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by feelgood(m): 5:58pm On Jan 10, 2007
Spiritual & physical maguns result in death while the third usually doesnt.
Spiritual- eg as in posts. Common to africans esp nigerians of western stock.
Physical- jealous(& most times, enraged) hubby uses a cutlass, gun, etc to decapitate/kill loverboy
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by feelgood(m): 6:42pm On Jan 10, 2007
Physical magun is common world over esp in the west (tho under another name)
Moral magun- here, lover is tormented by his conscience. Common among deeply religious pple esp of the xtian stock( who are usually referred to as backsliders)
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by feelgood(m): 6:58pm On Jan 10, 2007
Pple who fall prey 2 magun of any type are in danger of a worse punishment- HELLFIRE!
Lesson: flee adultery. It is sin. Partakers will receive a just recompense.
However, there is mercy for the penitent- If u turn to Jesus today. He delivers & saves
Re: Thunder Bolt (Magun): Myth Or Reality? by Seun(m): 9:25pm On Jan 10, 2007
How exactly does magun kill. Let the eye-witnesses submit their accounts.

Did you see any actual thunder-bolt from the sky? Or was I just a normal illness exxagerated by your imagination?

, And that's where you're hooked. You'd like to believe this is a reality, then for you it becomes a reality. The thing is, when you believe in or embrace the belief of jazz happening to you, then ou render yourself vulnerable to it. Me, i no send such things like this.
here's an example; i consider myself a man of logic, so i can't imagine a case where someone is shot with a gun and the bullet bounces off him. such things to me are totally impossible. ergo, no amount of jazz will anybody rub in Nigeria that a bullet fired from my gun will not 'enter'. because my mind will never entertain the idea of a bullet bouncing off a naked chest.

Just blank what others say and do your own thing. I have a friend who goes to his village a lot, people complain of witch attacks at night but he's been untouched so far. as he says "maybe witches truly exist, but i no want their trouble and dem no want my trouble!". That belief alone could keep him safe.

, just my opinion,
