I had a discussion with a friend last week about certain gospels that have been ignored by The Catholic Church and other churches in general. Two being The Gospel of Judas & Thomas.
Supposedly the gospel of Judas mentions the fact that Jesus actually had a discussion with Judas Iscariot about his betrayal. It was all set up by the two to have Him taken away for His cruxificion etc.
What I don't understand is why some people are so vehemently against this book. I mean is it REALLY that bad to believe that such a thing could be true?
Obviously Jesus came to Earth for a reason. To die for our sins. So why is it that churches, the Catholic church especially try so hard to hide the fact that Judas was let in on this? I mean His death was already planned out from the time the angel appeared to Mary so I guess one can say I'm confused or perhaps the Church sees it as going against the belief that He was a martyr?

I was just sent the Gospel of Thomas so I'll have my questions about that later,

the difference between the Catholic Bible and King James is the apocrypha, 7 or so extra books in the Catholic Old Testament. There really isnt any doctrinal difference. The Catholic and Protestant New Testaments are the same.
