There is a huge difference between wise and foolishness. A wise human being knows that the best way to hide ignorance is to keep mute.

You should respond with facts to counter argue the facts laid bare by omonna, stop your philosophical rants, we want facts.

Did you or did you not withdraw all your savings from those banks on your way to Biafra?

Awo gave who 20 poundss? You folk are always sentimental and this compromises your capacity to think clearly.

The Nigerian government gave 20 Nigerian pound i.e 40 ponds sterling which today is the equivalent of £300 sterling zbout 170000 Naira today to every Biafran who claimed to have bank accounts but could not provide proof. Your leaders would lie about the truth but those who had proof got their money back. The truth is Most people did not have proof and many withdrew their life savings because they never planned to return . They exchanged their money for Biafran pounds and Ojukwu spent it.
let us consider a few facts without emotions. By 1970 at the end on the war Nigeria was not an oil exporter and had just spent a lot of money on a war. Where did that money come from? It is a credit to Awolowo that the allocation for the Eastern region was kept each year and at the end of the war it was handed over to Ukpabi Asika. It is also a credit to him that at the end of the war the country was not in debt.

Imagine the mood in the country then when money from other regions was set aside to pay Regional allocation and the equivalent in today's terms of 170000 Naira immediately after a war. Imagine paying that kind of money today even when we have oil to people from the North East. How easy is it.? People tell you folk all kinds of lies about Awolowo and you swallow them foolishly

Check out the claim that he kept the allocation for the Eastern region throughout the war and handed it back at the end.He did not have to.
Again people say Awolowo impoverished Igbo through Indigenization decree. The man resigned from Gowon's government in 1971.FACT. Do not take my word for it do the research.

Now check what year the Indigenization decree was promulgated.Again research it rather than take my word for it. The reality is the Igbo have dealt with the loss of the war by blaming Yoruba and that is not only unfair it is false. But when faced with the bitter truth many just blank it out. Did Yorubas kill Igbos at any time because they were Igbos? Did Yorubas enforce Abandoned property decree even though they could?
The reason why we are always on top is because we are fair while you hide hate in your hearts and then imagine that others too hold the same kind of hate as you do.
Deal with the truth and stop lying to your children. Yes a lot of wickedness was visited on your people but you know who to blame .About 5-10 % of that belongs to Ojukwu and the other 90 % elsewhere certainly NOT the Yoruba.

The Yoruba treated you a lot better than you deserved based on your interaction with them before the war.
I have no doubt that if the shoe was on the other foot in Lagos you would have enforced the abandoned property decree. No doubt whatsoever. So if you want to move on fine .If you want to continue writing nonsense about £20 fine.Just remember that £20 then is about 170K today and never in history before had anyone received payment after losing war.
In those days there was not even a 20 Naira note and we were still buying a loaf of bread for 1 kobo

Words on marble

Apologies for what is about to come, but you don't strike me as an intelligent person, not in the least of ways. The thread was very interesting until you got us all trapped in a loop of copy and paste epistles. No genuine argument came from you that transcended beyond a line.

I can't remember the last time I saw an interesting thread as this but somehow you turned it inside out as you don't have anything meaningful to bring to the fore. I guess it speaks volume as to how some agitators don't have a thing upstairs about their pursuit. If you want to go on copying and pasting, at least give us something new, I beg you.

Of course, you are not afraid of the north. I guess that was why ojukwu chose to invade yorubaland to avenge the pogrom the north unleashed on their sorry slimy ar.se.s after they killed the latter's spiritual head.

The north killed your fathers and mothers like ,roaches in the north but ojukwu in his infinite wisdom decided to fight the killers of his people, in yorubaland.

If you lot are truly not scared shi.t.le.ss of the north, then i dare you keep your bile and fight for them. Afterall, they are the one holding your new messiah in chains.
whose messiah ? north's ballz suckers.after what the north did to MKO,fumilayo Ransome kuti,Awolowo, kudirat,OBJ,Gani fawehinmi,Adisa (the one with kneels on the ground begging his lord Sani Abacha,)wole Soyinka, oladipo Diya etc ,I can see the reason why SW finally bowed to them and shamelessly and even in hunger and thirst don't want to look at the north out of fear and tell them their wrongs.cowardice is indeed wicked.

Look at Bola TINUBU and Lie Muhammed that were calling GEJ a kindergarten president can't look at their eternal northern masters in the eye and ask why should Buhari kill unarmed citizens in their dozens, Allow Fulani to kill in Kaduna and elsewhere without a single arrest, refuse to obey court orders, appoint ministers after Six months in office etc.

see the way SW kept mute and allow all their masters that destroyed tens of lives and property at Mile 12 in Lagos get released by one filthy alhaji. shm for Una!

A typical yorubaaa is always envious of anything Igbo does, that is why you lots couldnt wait to be vice preident under Hausa like Igbos abi?

The difference is

We never conspired with the North to vote out a sitting Southern President and settle for remnants and scraps from the north to the south

You are alway sentimental.
It was the Same Buhari in 2011,It was a Yoruba Vice Presidential candidate in 2011.

What is Southern? Who did the Igbos side with in 1960 day one of independence?

Who did they side with in 1965?

You see when you try to lie and distort history we are ready.

This so called southern president you mention ,who demonstrated in Abuja before he was sworn in? Where were Eboes then>

This Southern President swept the SW in 2011 did he not? He was voted in not for sentimental reasons and when the time came he was voted out again not for sentiment but for his performance and also marginalization of the SW. We have not forgotten the conduct of Stella Oduah,Anyim and others under that government and how they probably cost him SW votes so do not talk nonsense about a Southern President.
Facts are stubborn. We are told GEJ made a deal with Tinubu in 2011 before the election so how come immediately after the election Tinubu was charged and docked by CCB?? We all saw the photos. Did you imagine that would not have consequences.Where was the Southern Solidarity.
Of the UNELECTED officials in GEJ's government tell us the most senior one from the SW? Southern President indeed?

Yorubas started trouble they could not finish in 1993 using 'June 12' with their Odua Republic in mind and were expecting Igbos to fight their wars; Ralph Obioha and Bobo Nwosisi were the only people around their AareOnaKakanfo MKO Abiola when he declared himself president-elect. The arrogant and cowardly Yoruba tribe couldn't even protect him from being whisked away like a common thief. He was eventually slaughtered like a salah ram. Yoruba gra-gra for a few days therasfter didn't yield any fruit save causing bloodletting of the innocent on the streets of Lagos.

Later Yoruba Obas did the unthinkable - sold Abiola and his mandate to Abacha for a mesh of porridge!

Remember, before the arrival of the colonial masters Yorubas were having deadly wrestling matches amongst themselves in the Kirijiri war. They were at logger-heads and refused to tolerate themselves.

It was the the emergence of Nigeria that gave Yorubas respite. A number of Yorubas despise their kinsmen in Kwara State and call them Afonja (betrayers).

In the1960s, immediately after Nigeria's independence, the SW region was aflame with Awolowo vs Akintola political fight which blossomed into the 'Operation Wetie' with great arson, maiming and wanton destruction of lives and properties.

Akintola and Awolowo helped Yorubas channel the hatred they had for each other towards the Igbo. In Igbo hatred Yorubas were united and that was the purpose of the Yoruba Ronu speech by Akintola!

If Yorubas are unfortunate to have their own country just watch them freely annihilate themselves with juju and ritual practices. The Ijebus will claim to be richer and superior. Oyo muslims will want to sell the rest of them to their Northern masters. Human parts dealings and trading will most likely become a major GDP contributor in Oshogbo and Ibadan.

Yorubas are just too scared of Nigeria's disintegration because they will lose their object of unity - The Igbo Nation. And being a tribe of anger, hate and propaganda, they would soon channel that hatred towards each other as in the days of old in the Kiriji wrestling match

Here's the more sensible answer that you seek:

"In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude.

The Yoruba elite were the first, in 1962, to attempt a violent overthrow of an elected government in this country. In 1966, it was the violence in the West which provided an avenue for the putsch of 15th January. After Chief Awolowo lost to Shagari in 1983 elections, it was the discontent and bad publicity in the South-West which led to the Buhari intervention... "

We all know how the Eboes like t boast they don't have kings.
So how come there is a king in Arochukwu.
Well the Dynasty was established after conquest by Akuma ,from Akamkpa in Cross River State
Instead of battling him like you're used to...you now wanna go into the slippery ground that's Igbo history.
Concerning Arochukwu, the place was conquered from the Ibibio during the Aro-Ibibio wars(1650-1700). Igbos were scattered all over the present day SE/SS region. The akuma that was invited to take the throne was also Igbo.
Efiks are descendants of an Igboman and an Ibibiowoman, their grave is at uruan in akwa ibom state if you need to confirm.. if ogoja state is created out of the present CRS, Igbo would replace Efik as the second language there kos its widely spoken by people in the area.
So you see, bringing in the great dynasty of Arochukwu has not helped you at all

Even neutral Nlers observed the trend here on this thread. All unhidden comments are anti-Igbo comments, All hidden comments are reactions against yoruba.

Is it that yorubas and their mods can't survive a on a level playing field?

Honestly speaking the guy is really passionate about Biafra, I honestly wish he could get it. Unfortunately it will take SW SS MB to get the so-called Biafra and here they are cursing and hating probably obsessed with Yoruba.
They know Yoruba could actually mobilize the crowd to support them, but the question is Yoruba believe in the power of persuation while they believe in violence and these two don't mix.
I remembered vividly that Bantu Steve Biko was more popular among the youths than Nelson Mandela. Biko was a ruthless anti apartheid crusader, him and his boys were killing white people up and down. Biko was fighting the oppressors with violence while Mandela was fighting with his brain. Mandela was a lawyer so he knows the legal implications of any stupid move, on his mission.
In the end Biko died a shameful death, the white people grab him, beat him to a pulp, tied him to the back of a pick up van, and drag him on the hard road naked throughout the freezing night and he died.
Mandela spent 27 years in jail with old men like Walter Sisulu and Thabo Mbeki they suffered but they achieved their goal.
Buhari will not send KANU to jail, but his life could be in danger.
Let those useless elders of this country, make themselves useful for once by negotiating Kanu's release.
KANU can then go and re strategize on a non confrontational approach to getting his Biafra, as he himself can see that confrontational strategy is dead on arrival.

Like the great Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace I have no doubt that if he deemed it necessary he would go as far as to sacrifice his very life in the struggle for freedom and independence for his Igbo people from the Nigerian state and from our internal colonial masters and for the establishment of his beloved Biafra
