Muslims should avoid the statement "awon elesin keji" meaning "those upon the second religion" as this is indeed a statement that nullifies tawheed and antagonizes the statements of Allaah.

This is however because some Muslims also share the wrong and evil notion of the disbelieving people that Islaam and Christianity are both from the children of Prophet Ibraaheem; Ismaa'eel and Ishaaq, respectively. This is nothing but a lie and falsehood attributed to Ibraaheem and His Children. On the contrary, Prophet Ibraaheem and His Children knew nothing and called to nothing but Islaam.


Meanwhile, Allaah, the Most High, says (interpretation of the meaning): ** Indeed the religion with Allaah is Al-Islaam ** Allaah also says (interpretation of the meaning): ** And whosoever seeks after a religion other than Islaam, it will never be accepted from him; and he will be from the losers in the hereafter **

So, these verses apparently show that Allaah approves of only one religion, so the saying "those upon the second religion" implies giving approval of a religion Allaah never sanctioned. May Allaah guide our tongues from legislating what He never sanctioned.

^ Many a times, I wonder how backward and idly the reasoning of these so-called sheiks bringing out unnecessary issues and topics, passing needless fatwas on nearly everything. That says a lot why Islamic world that used to be leading in everything is going backward today.

# What exactly is the meaning of the above mentioned "fatwa"? What is wrong in calling Christians " awon elesin keji?" Even Quran refer to Christians and Jews as "Ahl al-Kitab - People of the (divine) book". That tag is the most respected tag they can ever get. I bet, if this phrase is not stated clearly in the Quran, and somebody used it for them, these pseudo-sheiks will never hesitate declaring kufr on whoever used it.

# I have never seen, in the past 2 decades one good thing that Muslims scholars contributed to the survival and development of human race at large. The only thing they know how to do best is condemning, passing needless fatawa etc, and all these did nothing but severing peace among Muslims and creating tensions to the society.
