Sex is nature’s way for organisms to procreate. For humans, yes, it is our way to procreate, but most of all it is our intimate way to share our love with our partner. However, the experience may not be all nice if there are some bad smell during intercourse. Since all of our senses are heightened during lovemaking, it would be totally unpleasant if there are awful smells emitted by your body. These are some of the things people do not want to talk about, and sometimes, those people who emanate bad odours are not often aware that they are. Since we are most sensitive during intercourse, it is a put-down if our partner complaints on that awful smell coming from you. Better be prepared than embarrassed. Proper hygiene helps eliminate bad body odour. It should become a habit to make sure that down-there is clean and devoid of any bad smells. So, how do you avoid smelling bad during intercourse? Here are some answers. 1. Wear cotton underwear : Wear cotton underwear to promote sufficient air circulation and help reduce genital odour. Fabrics made with synthetic materials do not promote good air flow and are more likely to make your intimate parts smell even before you have intercourse. 2. Watch What You Eat: What you eat can also affect your body’s odour, including that of your intimate parts. Eating food with a lot of spices in it may not do your body’s natural aroma any favours. You’re more likely to emit a questionable smell when you’ve consumed onions, garlic and curry for example. The same thing happens when one consumes cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower, as these contain sulfur, which when broken down, makes one body emit an odour similar to rancid butter. Try eating those veggies with a pinch of sea salt to minimize or eliminate the odour producing effect, minimize or avoid the consumption of foods having a lot of yeast and sugar. 3. Avoid Vaginal Douching: Avoid using vaginal douches to clean your feminine intimate parts as this can upset the bacterial balance in your vagina and may promote the growth of odour-causing bacteria instead. You should only do this when your doctor requires you to do so. 4. Change Sanitary Pads Regularly: The use of tampons, panty liners and sanitary pads can promote a less than pleasant smell, especially if they are not changed often and regularly. Consider using the unscented variants, as these may interfere with your body’s natural aroma, and change them as soon as they’re sufficiently soiled or after about four hours of use to keep yourself fresh, clean and odour-free. 5. Take A Shower: Before getting intimate, take a shower or do a quick wash up of your genitals to prevent body odour. This is particularly necessary after you’ve engaged in physically challenging activities that make you sweat or work that has exposed you to humid or dusty environments, these may promote infections or the spread of odour-causing micro-organisms in your body. Don’t forget to towel off thoroughly afterwards to prevent creating moist, bacteria-friendly hot spots on your body. 6. Drink lots of Water: Drink at least eight glasses of water every day to help your body flush out toxins and fend off odour-causing bacteria. 7. Use Natural Vaginal Washes: Instead of douching, try using natural vaginal washes instead or use just water. One option is to add apple cider vinegar or plain white vinegar to warm bath water and immerse yourself in this solution for about 30 minutes. Vinegar has odour-neutralizing and anti-bacterial properties that can help deodorize your genitals. Another alternative is mixing about two drops of tea tree oil with about six ounces of water and using this to wash your intimate part. 8. Eat Yogurt: Eating yogurt or any other food with live cultures of good bacteria can help minimize body odour as it promotes the spread of beneficial micro-organisms that can fight yeast infection or digestive issues. Work with your partner, sex should be pleasant and memorable and not listed as one of your most embarrassing moments. |
