What If Jonathan Was Truly A Hero Of Nigeria’s Democracy? by BuzzAss(m): 5:14pm On Jan 17, 2017 |
![]() On the 31st of March 2015 at about 5:15 pm, Goodluck Jonathan, who at that time was the President of Nigeria and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general elections, put a call through to Muhammadu Buhari who was at the time the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the election to concede defeat and congratulate him (Buhari) on his victory at the polls. He was a hero of Nigerian democracy. The first incumbent Nigerian to willingly concede defeat in a democratic setting and even called his opponent to congratulate him. Only God knows that Nigerians will not witness such a thing again. |
