The order for the payment was given at a meeting between the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari and key players in the petroleum downstream sector.

This is not subsidy fund but it's money paid to independent marketers (filling station owners) which covers transportation cost so as to the price uniform nationwide. Its because govt dont pay these marketers that why PMS is being sold for above 145 in most cities and states that are far from lagos

What do you mean by ignorance is bliss? Was the whole idea of the N145 not suppose to factor in moving prices of crude oil and petroleum products?

Why are you trying to attribute the current situation to extenuating circumstances? This is simply a reflection of bad policy making on the part of the President. Any future petroleum pricing template will still fail because the President has stubbornly refuse to recongnize that the current exchange rate is too low to spur any form of economic growth. And as a result of his stance, petroleum product prices have stayed largely beyond the reach of the poor man.

Everybody better buy fuel and keep, the heartless president is about to increase it again.

What is annoying about dis govt isn't how directionless it is but d morons dat com in here to defend their actions and inactions. This same govt went ahead to do away with subsidy and less than a year afta dey are back to it. Didn't dey analyse how feasible and viable it was going to b before going ahead with it? Our refineries are still not working, no new ones have com on board and d prices of fuel is going up instead of down.. Who is fooling who?

so some PMB hypocrites now know that economics plays a role in determining price of products...

when someone told you hypocrites that paying subsidy when crude was sold at $100 p/b, you refused to use your sense.

now you are paying far more now that the price has dropped by 50% & you are ranting about demand & supply.

where was 'your' brain in 2012? on sabbatical?

hypocrites.

always using the same excuses that they themselves condemned.
