Please after seeing naija three games so far can there be any doubt concerning Yakubu Aiyegbeni as a formidable striker, Coach Shoaibu please this boy don become Rashidi Yekini. It is easy to neutralize him because he is a very lazy player. |

What else should a super eagles team have done against Mozambique? Mozambique has always been a crap but we made them look fantastic during the qualifiers. This result on a normal day shouldn't be a surprise. The only reason why i pray day and night for the Super chickens to go home early is so Amodu can be sacked. .True talk. I will do the same too. I do't want Amodu taking us to the world cup because the heart-break will be too much to bear . |

This match i hope will teach Amodu one thing, that Yobo is a disaster to our defence and Ayegbenie is useless as a striker. Cant he see the deference in today's match? Ayegbenie is another person i would wanna see out of the team. |

Over the the last two african cups of nation, The first game between egypt and anything team, has always bin the last game of the competition! So may be the Super eagles have a slot in the final. . . . . . . . . .Dream on But they might get trashed by Egypt |

SeXyBoNE: I hope we lock horns with Gabon. I have this Gabonese friend of mine that kept telling me Gabon would beat the SE if given the chance. Well, I wish them goodluck against Zambia. Cameroon is my 2nd choice opponent. I'm fed up with Tunisia; we've played them twice in one year. Zambia was part of our pre-tournament warm-up adversaries. So no, not them. . . |

We have the best team possible out on the pitch now except Yakubu who is holding us to ransom with his tired legs. Yakubu must be replaced by Matins or Nsofor in the next game. Brilliant organisation of the defence as always by Shittu and brilliant man-marking by Apam. Yobo must never be let back into the team ever again. Echiejile showed that a left-back can attack without foregoing his defensive responsibility. I would argue that he even attacks better than Taiwo because he always delivers the cross rather than taking shots from obscene distances like Taiwo. Finally, Keitas presence in midfield is 2 years overdue. No SE midfielder has energy like Keita. With the same team (+Martins/Nsofor - Yakubu), we can go all the way to the final. |

Ibime: Best post so far bar Echiejile being better attacking-wise than TT. If they continue playing the way they played today, they will get to the finals. Kaita and Apam were magnificient. |

When Amodu took Shittu and Martins, people are screaming he is taking unfit players. Now someone come and tell me Shittu is not fit. He is the true captain of SE even if does not have the band. Commitment and vocal. The most impressive moment was when he was being carried out for treatment vs Benin for slamming his yansh on the floor, he turned around and was shouting instructions to his team members. Fuu.cking Leader!!! Yobo should go to hell. |
Re: Nigeria Vs Mozambique African Nations Cup 3-0 by adctrl: 7:35pm On Jan 20, 2010 |
Thank God we won. We have seen over the years mostly in the premiership that Yak should never be chosen b4 Martins in any team because Martins will score all goals that Yak has ever scored but Yak will never score all those that Martins has scored. You are free not to concur with me. You can always see the hunger with Martins and even Nsofor but not with Yak. I have nothing against Yak because I believe he is a great guy but to succeed, please lets put the best who merit it. Kudos to Osaze, are the other guys not seeing his commitment everytime he plays? |
Re: Nigeria Vs Mozambique African Nations Cup 3-0 by deb(m): 7:37pm On Jan 20, 2010 |
@Sagamite, Shittu is a great player. I've never doubted his leadership ability and committment on the field of play. My challenge with Amodu was using Nnwaneri over him against Egypt. Yobo is a disaster and his presence is no longer needed in that team. Even when he is fit he commits school boy blunders |
Re: Nigeria Vs Mozambique African Nations Cup 3-0 by Sagamite(m): 7:40pm On Jan 20, 2010 |
deb: There may be several reasons why he did not use him. The guy has not played for months and is coming back from injury, has not partnered Yobo for more than a year, if Amodu selects him and we get thumped what do you think people will say? |
Re: Nigeria Vs Mozambique African Nations Cup 3-0 by okunoba(m): 7:40pm On Jan 20, 2010 |
Too many people with nothing good to say, ur team won by 3 goals to nil and u still so negative. Yakubu and Amodu did well this time around. We should be singing their praise. The game was a joy to watch. |
