While it sounds like a good idea to be tech savvy with the much talked about technological advancement, there are some challenges that are associated with the constant use of electronic gadgets.
The constant use of electronic gadgets may rub off on one's health after a while. The effects of these gadgets are usually long term as they come off as accumulated impacts.

Although the impact of these gadgets are of a major concern to many people since it is associated to our wellness and proper functioning of the body system, it should also be known that they are useful tools.

The presence of these tech gadgets make our work better as some people are more efficient when they block their ears with their headphones and allow loud music melt the hindrances they have with set tasks.

However, to every good thing, there is a bad side that must be watched out. The adverse effects of electronic gadgets like phones, laptops, headphones and so on have to be known in order to get the best out of the gadgets.

It is important for tech geeks to know the impact of using some of the tools they use in order to reduce or minimise the effect they may have on their health. Find below some of the health issues that may arise from the use of tech gadgets:

1. Ear damage

As beautiful as it is to float while some pleasurable music is being played in the background, you could be exposing yourself to some potential ear damage. Setting the volume of your music to the highest may make you lose your hearing over time.

Those who have their ears plugged for a long time are particularly at risk of having ear problems. Give your ears a break in order to avoid using hearing aids in the future.
2. Nomophobia

Nomophobia was coined from no-mobile-phone-phobia in 2010. It is an anxiety suffered by mobile phone users. The influx of smartphones have increased the number of people suffering from this anxiety.

People find it totally unbearable for them to be without their phones for some minutes. They would rather hold on to the phone even when the battery is dead instead of letting it be.

Some people get sick when they have flat batteries as they feel disconnected from the world. Being dependent on your mobile phone can affect your health and wellness.

Apart from suffering from a social disorder that prevents you from connecting to those around you, you may also find it hard to concentrate.

3. Obesity and swollen limbs

People who work in telecommunication company and media houses suffer from obesity and swollen limbs because they sit for many hours working on their computers.

Sitting for too long while operating the phone or laptop can make you suffer from obesity. To avoid this, you should move around as much as possible while using these gadgets.

4. Risk of putting a strain on your neck and back

It could be addictive being on the social media 247 and being on top of your game. The time spent on these electronic gadgets put a strain on our necks and backs.

Many people sit in awkward positions simply they want to operate their phones; some bend their backs because they are carried away by the thing they are doing on the gadgets.

You may end up changing your structure if you get used to operating your gadgets from a particular position.

5. Loss of eyesight

Staring at the screen of your computer and phones all day is a bad idea. The light from the screens may damage your eyesight and cause your eyes to water even when you are not crying.
Reduce the brightness of your tablet, phone and laptop screens if you work with them all day. If you do not do this, you may eventually lose your eyesight.

6. Insomnia

The use of electronic gadgets often deprive so many people of good hours of sleep. Youths particularly clutch their phones to their chests as they chat into the night.

Inability to sleep as a result of being addicted to phones will deprive you of good hours of sleep; this will also affect your performance during the day as the brain will not be as active as it should be.

Also, you stand a chance of developing high blood pressure with the constant use of gadgets that robs you of sleep. Turn off your gadgets when it is bedtime so you can catch enough rest.

You can say that again. I see so many funny things these days like someone operating his phone on a motorcycle on top speed. Blocking the ear with buds while on a busy road.
I have folks who can't leave their phones for a minute. I guess these guys will definitely choose their phones over sex.
