Good Afternoon Everyone here. Please I need an urgent assistance. I just got my admission letters in the 2 programmes I recently applied for in a University in Quebec and I have the following questions: 1. Where do I use as the visa office, Ghana or London? I'm based in Lagos. Which is the fastest? 2. I have 3 dependent children who are American citizens. What's the possibility of me getting a visa if I go with my dependents? How much do you advice I have in my account if I must go with my children? 3. I read somewhere that medical is done in London? Must everyone applying from Nigeria go to London for medicals? Anyone who has applied and been to Quebec here? I would greatly need your assistance. Thanks |

Moley22: . I was not admitted to Manitoba, but I had to say something because people seem to think when you work you can save for school fees. It is very hard to save enough for fees. For example let's say u earn 10.75$ an hour in Manitoba and u work 20 hours a week, that's roughly some 800-900$ a month, let's say u have your housing situation being paid for from home, there is still the need to consider food, consider Utilities and some other minor expenses, and for those who aren't being sorted 10k cad honestly an average of 300-700$ per month on rent, what is left to save ? It's pretty much difficult. Cos most people tend to find out that u end up changing half your wardrobe when you get there due to differences in weather conditions.... Basically though it's an almost impossible situation. Except you will cut down on a lot of things which is highly improbable. My 2cents tho 3 Likes |

mcobex: Bro please do not confuse people, swearing an affidavit is different from notarizing. Notarizing is done by people who are notary public and can cost as much as 15k per document..... Affidavit is possible to get at 350 sef since the oath fee is just 50# and all you have to do is pay the typist. But don't confuse affidavit for notarizing. Thanks Cc @ yemdogg |

Nogen: 1. Since you are based in Lagos, you will be applying in Nigeria either Abuja or Lagos. Canada Visa Application Centre, Lagos Manor Hall, Plot 110, Admiral Ayinla Way, Opposite Treasure Garden Estate, Third Roundabout, Lekki Phase I – Lagos 2. Since, you will studying in quebec, in addition to your admission letter, you must have received or applied for a Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (CAQ) or certificate of acceptance which is issued by the province of Quebec. Also, i would advice you to apply alone first, then after you secure your TRV you apply for your dependants too. Below is the minimum amount you will need to prove that you can support yourself and the family members who accompany you while you are in Canada (Quebec)... Single student- Tuition plus $11,000 for a 12-month period + one family member- $5,100 more for a person 18 years of age or older for a 12-month period (or $425 per month) -$3,800 more for a person under 18 years of age for a 12-month period (or $317 per month) + each additional family member-$5,125 more for a person 18 years of age or older for a 12-month period (or $427 per month) -$1,903 more for a person under 18 years of age for a 12-month period (or $159 per month) 3. To your last question, medicals is done here in Nigeria and not London Goodluck 4 Likes |

tysaxmalomo:are u saying this base on experience or what? if u want to use a private law firm that I can't attest to buy there's a notary public department in ikeja high court and u can do it there, I have done more than 10 documents there so I KNOW WHAT AM SAYING. just the way people pay up to 15k to get police report and some (including me) pay just 3k to get same police report that's how it is with this 2 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by yemdogg: 2:37pm On May 02, 2017 |
mcobex: What is written in the document particularly at the attestation part? Before me ............................................ Commissioner for Oaths OR BEFORE ME ................................................. NOTARY PUBLIC If it is the earlier one...then that's not a notary public. In any event....It is possible that Lagos State Judiciary has a notary public department, buh it is not so in most states in Nigeria, even in the FCT. Notary public are purely lawyers and they are usually not attached to any court whatsoever. Infact one of the requirement of being a Notary public is certificate of registration of business name. Therefore, this implies that they're not to be under the employment of any Government agency or parastatal. They're usually private legal practitioners. Commissioner for oaths on the other hand are usually court clerks saddled with the responsibility of swearing people on oath to ensure the information provided are valid and true. 1 Like |

mcobex: No i am not interested in the amount. It depends on the lawyer notarising the document for you. For further information, was there a stamp/seal on your document that says NOTARY PUBLIC or ORIGINAL COPY SIGHTED BY ME? Please check very well. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mcobex: 2:43pm On May 02, 2017 |
yemdogg:when I said it I was very specific by saying "if the guy lives on the mainland he should go to the high court in ikeja and he will get it done for that price depending on his bargaining power" the last time I did was late last year, but will be going there later this month again to do another document of mine |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tysaxmalomo: 2:44pm On May 02, 2017 |
mcobex: Based on experience I'm a Lawyer sir, but if you say you are notarizing docs at 1k I hear you sir.... Sorry for stating what I know... Enjoy.... |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tysaxmalomo: 2:47pm On May 02, 2017 |
yemdogg: Thanks for the info on requirements for notary public.... Is the High court not a govt parastatal? When people start having issues, you complain.. whether or not it is in the high Court doesn't matter.... Enough private person businesses within high courts in various states.... But as you're doing it at 1k carry on |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mcobex: 2:48pm On May 02, 2017 |
tysaxmalomo:pls are u based in lagos? if yes u can check the court in ikeja for verification . we are all here to enlighten each other and I gave the advise based on what I know and have experienced .I have notarized more than 10 documents and they have been accepted even in canada |

mcobex:@mcobex you are saying the truth, I have done same so many times as far back as 2014 till date, I have never paid the said amount, probably @tysaxmalomo does not reside in lag, if na abj or ph dey can get it as high as 30k sef, but for lagos, no b so. those docs have been accepted by different embassies including Canada. thanks for clarification. we are here to help each other |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tysaxmalomo: 2:58pm On May 02, 2017 |
mcobex: Neither am I fighting with you..... Stated it from your point of view and I'm just asking general legal and ethics questions.... That doesn't take away from the authenticity as you've stated it.... I am not a fountain of knowledge. I made my comments based on my own experiences of six years of learning and 2 years of practice. Sorry if it seemed like I was fighting. |

Good morning all, please i'd like some clarification on the following - 1. My maternal cousin is my sponsor and she doesn't have any birth certificate i just want to know if i can use an affidavit to show the relationship between us. (my mum doesn't have a birth certificate too) 2. I'm using her soa but i also run an online store (asides my 9-5 job)and i intend using my soa to show the payments made by customers as this is essential for my sop but with some posts i've read so far i'm a bit confused. pls whats your advice? 3.I want to use some of my late dad and mum's property to show financial proof. Does that make my mum a co-sponsor? or I can still use it. Please i will appreciate your advice thanks. Please I need your advice |
