michV:Please I want to seek the TRV doctor's opinion on how to tackle this recent request from CIC... |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by nelly28: 1:48pm On May 04, 2017 |
CanadianNurse: which university did u apply to, but dere some schools dat does not accept tuition fees, until u arrival d school, like Manitoba university, Brandon university, PEI etc, so in dat case I guess having a dom account surface all issue., so sending dem a dom account statement will b okk. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by CanadianNurse: 2:13pm On May 04, 2017 |
nelly28:in my own opinion I think all CIC is trying to do is to make sure that 1)The cash is available 2)The cash will be exported when needed without using CBN policy as excuse So I think the dorm account and a written Refrence from your bank will do but most schools might soon start adjusting there rules because it's clear that the schools conform to CIC rules before they can get a DLI to host international students... When there is a clash between school rules and CIC rules then CIC rules overrides |

Guys...These forum has been so helpful, right now I'm in a fix...suggestions cud help, I have applied for University of Mannitoba Undergradute( University 1)for Sept 2017 and resumption is in effect from 31st of August..Truth is that the tution is quite high considering rents and all and so i intend to apply for maybe Brandon or Memorial Newfoundland for January 2018 session...Is it advisable i travel by September, decline the admission and resumption of Umanitoba and wait till January session or rather seat here in Nigeria till January and travel?? Awaiting a helpful suggestion...thanks |

So a friend and I are trying to understand how online study visa applications from Nigeria are processed. I thought it was all done in Ghana but there is a high commission and deputy high commission of Canada in Nigeria |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 3:18pm On May 04, 2017 |
Moley22:The thing is, you will still pay the tuition for the school with high fees if you go in september. Why not go for the affordable one and exercise patience. Even if you travel in sept, you MUST meet the conditions on your study permit which will automatically mean that you will be enrolled in the either of the two universities till jan. So i think you should wait, apply to the ones you can afford and go in january. Unless you think otherwise and have all the cash. 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 3:25pm On May 04, 2017 |
LightandDarkness:Does it really matter where it is processed? As long as you get your study permit approved, it can be processed in afganistan for all i care. This shouldn't be your worry, thankfully you can apply online in convinience or through VFS. 3 Likes |

Austinpee4: True. We were just wondering because of application perception, a Nigerian vo might understand the documents more than a Canadian one for example |

LightandDarkness:There is nothing like Nigerian VO anywhere in their embassy oo. All of them are full flesh Canadians both in nigeria and all over the world. If naija VO dey among them, there will be so much favouritism. A visa officer will most definitely use all available resources and man power to understand anything he/she need. Nigerians can be their background staffs but certainly not a visa officer. 4 Likes 1 Share |

nelly28: Manitoba accepts fees from international students prior to arrival ''if Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires students to forward funds to cover their first year of tuition and school fees (and possibly living expenses) prior to registration''. The amount will be deposited in the student account and a receipt will be ''processed and e-mailed to your e-mail account referenced in your Aurora Student account. If an original receipt is required it can be mailed to you upon request''. 2 Likes |

sampe:1. It is advisable. Same as waiting for a request from the embassy. 2.You can either address it to the lagos or accra office, any is fine eg The visa officer, high commision of canada/canadian embassy, no 122......., lagos/accra, nigeria/ghana. 3. Any evidence to show you are married and wife is in nig is fine. It will serve as a good home tie same as your other immediate family members in nigeria. Also make sure you indicate your marital status as married on the application form when you do the court marriage. 4. Google will be your best tool and resource. 5. This thread has seen plenty email addresses already with little or no response. Also, your email address is vunerable to attacks or hacking especially on a public forum where you can't ascertain who has access to it. Do well to always post your enquiry here and you will get responses. 6. Anybody can sponsor you. To have a good chance using your inlaw who will be considered a 3rd party, let him pay your first year tuition, transfer funds for your living expenses to you and also add an affidavt of sponsorship to your application. |

"international students are now paying using our partner flywire (formally peerTransfer) for their tuition and University residence fees. With flywire most of our students have the option to choose from several payment methods and currencies, including their home currency at competitive rates.
