I've been wondering whether guys around download up to 2 gigs. I use starcomms and it is too damn slow, around 20kbps on an average, i tried downloading a game of 7 gigs and then peeped down to see the time left it was 23days left, im so pissed

@poster do ur downloads after 12; even then it may take u 5-6 days to finish downloading, it took me over 2 days to download win7rc

i dey try for download(sometimes 1 GB per day) but i have a friend that not only downloads but uploads Gigabytes worth of stuffs.u go fear

1,000,000 / 48 - ? = 23800 MB. In 1 hr, you download 23GB of data? That's quite interesting. New sata hard drives operate at 1GBps so is someone trying to say your HD got overworked? I don't think so. But my friend, I understand what you did. Your 1TB hard disk which had about 2GB of space left got filled after two days and crashed due to disk errors and over-fragmentation

Hmm. You might be right. It must have been overworked. Downloading at high speeds is not a problem for me so I guess that was the trap I fell into. I didn't think it would matter at all.
This is a simpletech drive too. After the problem, I summoned google for help and found out that others have been having problems with these drives as well.

Multilinks 3G does about 1gb in a day with torrents. I pay per hour and my traffic reads 24gb after less than 300 hours.
