For the avoidance of doubt, the Action Congress as a party has never asked for the resignation of ailing President Umar Yar’adua.

As a matter of fact ever before the pdp woke up we were the first to wish him speedy recovery. Our contribution to the recent development was actually to call for the amendment of sections 144 and 145 of the constitution for a more efficient transition process.

The truth of the matter is that the pdp is thoroughly confused and overwhelmed by recent development. They have no clue how to navigate in the murky waters they have thrown us. They have, therefore, resorted to cheap blackmail and emotional fraud.

What has the AC rigging machinery, if any does exist, got to do with the present situation the pdp has thrown Nigeria. but if the truth is to be told the pdp, especially those of them in appointive positions are the ones benefitting from the climate of uncertainty created by the president’s ill health and we are not convinced that they sincerely wish the president to recover.

Who will be the greatest casualty of any change of baton? The federal ministers and other federal appointees of course. The pdp should shut up and stop insulting the collective intelligence of all Nigerians.

The other day the Attorney General said President Yar’Adua’s ailment is a simple one and the Federal Executive Council was talking down on Nigerians that despite the forced absence of the president occasioned by his ill health, the machinery of government is operating optimally.
