With the downward turn of the Nigerian economy, unemployment has been a rampant issue for the country and her citizens. Majority of the working class demographic are having a difficult time securing a job and even when secured, the job is often accompanied with low pay.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics Nigeria, Nigeria’s unemployment rate was recorded at 12.1% in March 2016, up from 10.4% in the fourth quarter of 2015. Specifically, youth unemployment increased to 21.5% from 19%. Currently, the country has 80 million unemployed youths, as reported by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). It was further explained that 70% of the 80 million youths in the country are either unemployed or underemployed.

With these recent developments, employees across different industries are faced with the possibility of losing a stable source of income. This is one of the major reasons why some have begun looking into generating additional streams of income.

Entrepreneurship is widely encouraged especially in Nigeria. The key in entrepreneurship is to give value to others in exchange for money. Do you dream to start your own business? Do you have an idea and do not know what to do? Please share/reply.
