The govt should stop the police from all this their nonesnse road blocks. If anything, they should just park by the road side and act on situations with reasonable Intel. E.g in cases where they receive info that some criminals are trying to escape from around a particular area or via a particular route.

More often than not police men who put up road blocks are just there to collect money from commuters and most times they become a nuisance by causing unnecessary traffic. For commercial cars, making such payment to the police on a daily basis have now become somewhat mandatory. Them no send who dey look or what not anymore, they just collect the kishi openly these days. Corruption at it's core.

Very pathetic on the part of the Nigerian govt in failing to properly vet the personnel they employ in the police force. If ur a private driver with complete papers and sometimes when they see ur not willing to roger them, sometimes they look for other ways to harrass n frustrate you. Integrity should be one of the major criteria or consideration during employment of ppl into the NPF. Just my thoughts undecided

In sane societies, the armed forces do not shoot at unarmed civilians when there is no present and immediate threat to the life of the officer. Even in self defence, they are still expected to exercise some restraints.

In those places, you can be charged to court by the state for shooting at and killing a fleeing assailant especially if the post mortem proves an entry wound from the rear.

The fact that you carry some sort of firearm as an officer gives you no right to assert yourself using it on unarmed individuals.
