Emmaachile I greet you sir I'm about to venture into this though having little experience in raising of broilers(12yrs back).. 1.How many drinkers and feeders is required for 500 birds doc til maturity? 2. Could newbies like us follow your drug schedule? |
Re: ... by Nobody: 10:17am On Apr 18, 2019 |
mikeeze:1. A drinker per 50 birds. If you have the funds, go for nipple/cup drinkers 2. Yes but you need to be sure of your market before going for 500 birds and above. |

Hello house. I am changing the feed for my 25 weeks laying birds from self compounded feed to packaged feed (chikun feeds), do I have to give the birds any drug for this? |
Re: ... by Cassie74: 7:28pm On Apr 23, 2019 |
GeeCee: I don't know if people have started buying chikun again.. Pls ask around first before buying the feed to avoid stories that touch |
Re: ... by sammorad(m): 6:21am On Apr 24, 2019 |
GeeCee: y change feed for birds dt av laid for gud 25wks, be very careful. But if u must do, it must be done gradually, u can start from 90percent old feed +10percet new , den 75 percent to 25percent, 50 to 50, gradually until u get to 100 to zero percent. While doing dis place dem on multivitamin and ensure dey are at uptimum health status All d best |

Re: ... by Nobody: 7:49am On Apr 26, 2019 |
jidestroud:You need an antibiotic drug. The disease is called pullorum. It's caused by salmonella and its best controlled by antibiotics. I know moringa seed or leaves deals well with all salmonella but I have not used it to treat pullorum before. |

Good day farmers I have been reading through the first letter of this thread till now, I am a newbie who wants to venture into broilers. I would like to know what is best to use as bedding for the birds, there's no rice husk close by here, so I would like to know other best options please |
