Fresh facts emerge on Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s death

Police authorities in the State Osun have arrested a medical personnel, Mr Alfred Aderibigbe said to have administered a pain killer on the late Senator Adeleke who died on Saturday night after attending a social event.

Mr Aderibigbe is an auxiliary nurse who works at the Community Primary Health Centre in Ede, the late Senator’s town. The auxiliary nurse is currently at the State Investigation Bureau, (SIB) in Oshogbo, a competent police source who does not wish to be name told Irohinoodua today. The Police Officer expressed worry at the rate at wish the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke is being exploited for political gains by who he described as “mischievous elements.” He said some politicians in the opposition in the state invested in deliberate campaign of calumny in order to demonise the state government using the death of Adeleke as a spin.


"Even the idea of a state governor coming to safe a lady state official is all about a clever plot to score political gains. You can see the way the Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosu took pictures with the woman with the pictures taken by the governor's camermen. His media aides later syndicated the pictures. He is portraying himself as a saviour but Amosu's real intension is to demonise the ruling authority in the state." He said the attack on the woman was reheasred and plotted for political opportunism.

The leader of Oodua Nationalist Coalition, (ONAC) in Osun State, Alhaji Abiodun Rahman who is from Ede and an intimate supported of the late Adeleke told Irohinoodua that the late Adeleke's genuine lovers were disappoiinted at the conscious attempt to turn the incidence of his death into a weapon for political campaign. "It's so sad. It is against the culture of Yoruba people. This man is dead, instead of standing with the grieving family, politicians are dancing on his grave for what they will benefit in electoral form. it shows they really did not love him. How can anyone link his death to the coming gubernatorial election?The APC in Osun is yet to adopt a candidate. There is even no 100 percent assurance that the late Adeleke will not seek other preferences apart from contesting to be the governor next year. The whistle is yet to blow for the contest. The APC supported his Senate ambition. If they didnt want him to rise they would have scuttled his Senatorial ambition in 2015. We the real lovers of Adeleke feel sad that Adeleke's death is being used for politics by the enemies of Osun people."

He said the result of the autopsy carried out after his death, on the instruction of his family indicated that he died from the overdose of the medicine administered on him by his local medic.

The police source said the auxiliary nurse has been invited by the police after family members said he was the one invited by Senator Adeleke to treat him after complaints of pain. Family sources said Aderibigbe on many occasions had been invited by the late Senator to treat him whenever the pain relapsed.

“The Health Assistant who is well known to most family members of the Senator, is usually addressed as a doctor for years in Senator Adeleke’s compound where he has been injecting the Senator for his various health challenges. Mr Alfred lives not far from Senator Adeleke’s Country Home. He was woken from sleep with over 15 missed calls from the Senator for him to come over to administer medicine on him. The injection turned out to affect him negatively this time,” the source claimed.
