I've met countless Muslims, they feel reluctant to tell you their religion, some would even claim they are Christians. Why why why why why why?

Most change their names when you meet them - Kwam would tell you is name is Dayo,
Azeez - Tope
Kamil - Yomi
Aminat - Ronke
Zainob - Zee or Yemi et al.

This trend is also common among our celebrities. To say I was surprised the day I learnt that Bukky Wright is a Muslim was an understatement - her muslim name is Sekinot! Even Moji Olaiya (may her soul rest in peace), that she was not just a muslim but a practising one.

Anybody can use any of his/her names he/she wants and feel comfortable with, do you know why some Muslims don't use their Islamic names? Because of discrimination, muslims have been tagged terrorists, harsh people everywhere in the world, so don't blame them.

Even in airports, once they notice you're a Muslim, you will be searched thoroughly as if all Muslims carry bomb.

Some celebrities were former Christians before converting to Islam, their names are already a brand in the industry changing it will be difficult and a lose to their endorsement and business, the reason female celebrities that are married don't usually change their names.
