How Manchester United Could Lineup Next Season With Five New Signings by mikron(m): 3:18am On May 24, 2017 |
Manchester United have been disappointing in the league all season, and are expected to strengthen in the summer to maintain a sustained title challenge and hope to grasp the title from Chelsea, who have blown everyone apart this season. We take a look at Jose Mourinho’s probable lineup for next season including a number of new signings which include the likes of Jan Oblak, Idrissa Gueye, Michael Keane, James Rodriguez and Antoine Griezmann. Goalkeeper: It is safe to say that Manchester United current no 1, David de Gea is set for the exit door at Old Trafford with Real Madrid circling. To this end, Jose Mourinho has identified Atletico Madrid shotstopper, Jan Oblak as the potential replacement for the Spaniard. Defence: A new look defence is in the offing as Jose Mourinho knows that a sturdy defence is needed to maintain a title challenge. The likes of Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling are likely to depart. Victor Lindelof is expected to join from Benfica and partner Eric Bailly in the heart of the defence. The Ivorian has been good in his first season in England and should do when better. On the flanks, Antonio Valencia and Daley Blind should play as both are known for their commitment, an attribute Jose wants in his players. Midfield: A top defensive midfielder is needed to complement Paul Pogba and Everton’s Idrissa Gueye fits the bill perfectly. No player made more tackles than the Senegalese this season while beside him, Pogba will have the license to bomb forward in his preferred quarter back role. In attacking midfield, a trio of Juan Mata, James Rodriguez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is enough to strike fear into any defence. James is expected to join from Real Madrid in the summer while Mata and Mkhi have impressed Jose with their attitude and willingness to adapt their game to their coach’s demands. Attack: Antoine Griezmann has long been courted and was recently caught telling friends that there is a high chance of him joining United in the summer, though it will require a potential world record bid to tempt Atletico into selling. my fellow man united fans what do u think? who do u think should be added? I don't like this Shift James to the centre and start Rashford on the flanks I prefer Eric Dier to partner Pogba I wouldn't start Blind in defence.. We need a new Left back... Demi Mitchell is coming of age Marquinhos over Lindelof |
