Tradition is our root. Nobody uproots his root. The road can find another way. One of the reasons Africa is behind is because we lost our way(tradition)

We idolize a lot of barbaric and archaic beliefs in Africa. Shameful how people reject infrastructural development all in the name of believing one tree brings Goodluck and it's sacred.
Africa which way forward

Would you say the same thing if it were a church or mosque

Fayose must respect the traditionalists and leave their tree for them. That is their place of worship and you must leave it for them.
For those people screaming Africa this Africa that, had been it is a Mosque/Church that is blocking the dualization of same road am sure you won't say so.

Respect for all religion.

One of the weirdest things I've ever heard. How could a mere tree be sacred? What sort of mentality do some people have? Is Africa really cursed? A tree is in the way of a developmental project and some people are against it because of a tree. Why can't they go in the forest to find another tree? What's special about this one? Something just ain't right. I'll cut down the damn tree in a heartbeat. Complete nonsense.

Just what came to my mind first. Let the engineers design the road around that tree. It's simply innovative.

I don't understand why everywhere on this thread keep screaming. It'll be an edifice if such project is executed

nduchucks:
Roads are constructed around major natural and unnatural obstructive structures all the time.

This is probably not a fight worth fighting.

You didn't get madridguy.

His argument and mine is that people are hypocrites. I am certain Fayose would have exercised caution if a church was involved. I sense total disregard in Fayose's act. Yes, I am no religious person, but I like that everything should be fair. If it were a church, a lot of Christians would be condemning the act.
