*Topic:* ABRAHAM, MY FRIEND (II)
*Read:* JAMES 4:1-7

*MEMORISE:* _And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God._ *(James 2:23)*

*EXPOSITION*
Imagine what could have made a child, when grown up as an adult, to relate as a friend with his/her dad or mom! The truth is that such a grown up child has matured in a passage of time through the elementary applications of the principles of submission, trust, love, reverence and fear to his or her parents. Every candidate for friendship with God must walk the path of perseverance, brokenness, and character development - all three being unrewarded by the world, but strictly guarded the life of father Abraham. Know that those who are looked upon as friends of God, are tagged and fought die-hearted by the devil and his cohorts, as enemies. You cannot pray them away, but can only fight back with spiritual weapons.

Abraham was christened the friend of God in that he trusted the faithfulness of God to perform what He promised him. This is a fidelity of faith and of following the Lord, that comes with friendship.

Develop godly character today against all the bellows of Satan. Jesus called His disciples friends *(John 15:15)*, and they lived as such, and overcame their faithless and adulterous world. Only friends of God look forward to being blessed by their divine best Friend, jealously nurturing their intimacy with Him. He alone is able to save from all horrors and temptations of life. Therefore, go and grow this level of friendship with your God. With Him as your Friend, victory is eternally settled.

*PRAYER POINTS:*
*1.* I declare my sincere friendship walk with God, as from today, in Jesus name.
*2.* I come against every attempt of the devil to stop my walk with God, in Jesus name.
*3.* Lord, help our children never to be ashamed of associating with You in their different institutions of learning.
