President Umaru Yar’adua is being briefed on the on-going sectarian crisis in Jos, the Plateau capital, Minister of State for Information and Communications Alhaji Aliyu Bilbis said yesterday.



Bilbis gave the hint while addressing State House Correspondents in Abuja after yesterday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan. He said that the president was aware of all actions being taken by the vice president to address the crisis.

The minister said FEC was disturbed by the Jos crisis. “Do not forget that the Vice President has been acting on his behalf and I assure you that whatever is happening here, Mr President is being briefed. The Council expresses its deep sympathy to all those who lost their loved ones and property in the crisis and promises that government will do all in its power to ensure that lives and properties are protected,” he added.
