The 21st Convocation of the first state University in Nigeria :Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma ended today.. The occasion was Graced by dignitaries from all walks of life including the presence of the Executive Governor of the state, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the chief Justice of the state, The Chancellor of the university : HRH Alhaji (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, The Pro Chancellor : HRH (Prof) Gregory. I. Akenzua, OON, the Vice Chancellor : Prof. I. A. Onimawo, members of the state house of Assembly, traditional Rulers, the Enojie of Ekpoma and many other dignitaries including Vice Chancellors and Rectors from neighbouring institutions..

The Convocation event which was held at the Cordelia Agbebaku hall witnessed thousands of people withing and outside the state..

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Onimawo who gave a speech, commended the good works of the state executive Governor acknowledging the fact that the Executive Governor have shown much empowerment to the staff citing that staff of the institution receives full payments of salaries unlike some other Tertiary Institutions where staff are being paid half. However ,the Vice Chancellor appealed for more assistance adding that the uncompleted administrative building is a project that kick started over 10 years now and the institution is seeking assistance from the governor to give in finishing touches to the soon-to-be completed project..

Prof. Onimawo and Vice Chancellor of the institution also added that the NDDC project in the institution is also yet to be completed unlike other schools appealing that the Governor should revive the project by calling back the NDDC to finish up the project which has remained uncompleted for sometime now..

The Vice Chancellor also speaking with the audience highlighted the fact that the institution which happens to be one of the first state University in Nigeria has excelled in many areas as it stands to be one of the best state University in the country

The VC before rounding off his speech added that Inline with the ongoing Computer based test mode of examination conduction, the institution will be so great ful if the government assists in developing the ICT sector and getting new computer systems for effective conduction of subsequent Computer based test examination in the future..

The Executive Governor in his speech acknowledged the good work prof. Onimawo has done withing his tenure stating that the government is ready to partner and assist the institution in all ramification adding that the university should continue to remain at the top most top.
