Good day all...Please i need you all to help me with this info.I applied for my study permit since June, till now it still keeps showing eligibility being reviewed for over God knows how many weeks.School resumed sept 6th already and im still waiting.Wrote school for a deferral, they turned it down since i already did once. Now the deadline to withdraw from my course and get a refund of fees paid to the school is september 27th (next week wesnesday). If i dnt show up or withdraw then fee is gone. Now my question,is it true cic might require another admission letter from me or the school at the point of approving my visa to be sure i still hold my spot with the school? What do you propose i do? Please help a sister. All ideas are welcomed. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by abestine(m): 3:40pm On Sep 22, 2017 |
twendy:I want to believe CIC will definitely request for a new admission letter whenever they decide to approve your visa, provided you passed all necessary review. The normal and best thing to do is request for deferral which you did and it was turned down. Holding your slot with the school doesn't guarantee you a new admission letter, since they have told you they are not deferring it. I will advice you request for refund and reopen another application with the school, if you can get an admission with your documents in your first application, I believe you should be able to get admission again. As for your application for Visa, I will advice you put in a request for withdrawal stating the reason maybe you can be considered for refund if possible... All what I've said so far are my suggestion and thought, please wait for other advice which maybe more suitable than what I have said... Ire o 1 Like |

twendy:Once there is a positive review of your application, CIC will request a new offer letter with a new start date from you and not the school. Also note that the new letter will have to be the same DLI(school) you used for your application. So you should reach your school, explain to them the situation on ground and tell them that there is a possibility of a request of new start date and i believe the will work around something for you. The main thing for these schools is that there is progress both in your quest to study there and in your study permit application. Some schools allow you to withdraw from a course at a certain date to avoid financial charges but then, the funds will still be in your student account and it's available to you at anytime. So make sure you have verified from your student accounts department about the financial situation of dropping and adding courses(Course registration). 1 Like |

abestine: I think withdrawing the study permit application at this point may not be the smartest move. Anything is still possible. I also doubt much a refund will be completed for her app that has long been sent in since june. A good move will also be reapplying for admission in the same department just like you pointed out but i still feel this should be at the point when a new offer letter is requested. The request would expedite the process i feel or better still, the school can advise on the best possible way around her circumstance so it is a win win for her. CIC can be very unpredictable. What do you think? 1 Like |

Good day house. Respect to all gurus in the house. I have been following this thrend and I see that you guys have been doing great jobs. I was actually delayed on August 16th due to "Insufficient Funds". Immediately I requested for my GCMS note and I received it exactly after 30days. The reason for my delay was stated to be "Lump Deposit in my Sponsor's (uncle) Account from an Unknown Origin". Well, I have decided to reapply. My uncle has decided to settle me by paying 12million naira into my account, which covers my tuition and living expenses for my duration of study in Canada. My brother who manages a fish pond will be standing as a co-sponsor and he has already paid my first year tuition and he has also deposited 3million naira into my savings account for his support for my program. From my calculations, the funds Available for my proposed program in canada almost doubled the Actual Cost of my program (including tuition, living expenses and transports). Gurus in the house, my questions goes thus: 1. Is it implicating for my uncle to settle me ones and for all by paying my funding into my account? 2. Is it still necessary to submit my uncles statement of account since I will definitely submit my personal bank account statement (showing credit/inflow from my uncle and brother accordingly). 3. What should be the necessary financial documents that I must submit. 4. Similar question goes for my brother. What and what could benecessary documents for a fish farmer to submit. Looking forward for an advice bosses in the house... |

twendy:Since ur school wnt defer anymore , request for refund. Before doing so, send cic a letter concerning this issue. Cic's reply will determine ur decision. If cic doesn't reply before the refund deadline, go ahead and request for ur refund. Hopfully cic will continue processing ur application. Also try to apply in the same school or another. 1 Like |

kennykolabo:It takes exactly 2- 3 years to process applications and your sisters' may take a little over 3 years Just kidding! Processing times for study permit applications for Nigerian applicants have shuttled between 14-16 weeks in recent times however, some applications have extended this period due to alot of factors. A few being the significant high volume of app, formalities in background checks, inadequate, pending or sufficient information from immigration related agencies working with CIC, issue of misrepresentation, request for additional info and documents, etc. The best your sisters can do is to exercise more patience, check if their application has passed the processing time stipulated on CIC's website, once it has, they can send a mail requesting information on the status of their application using accra.immigration@international.gc.ca or/and use the case specific enquiry/webform found here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp Regards. |

Austinpee4: I agree with you that refund isn't a smart move, didn't actually consider the possibility of later approval that you have drawn my attention to, request of withdrawal may also give him/her application attention if it hasn't been worked on since submission... ( my thought though). Also regarding reapplying, application period have windows, once the window is closed, applicant can only queue for the next available window. So telling him/her to wait till the point of request from CIC, may not get her the admission letter on time. I will advice she either contact the school as you have suggested to plead for another admission letter for winter or reapply for the next available admission which I think is summer or Fall... twendy:Since the deadline is Wednesday, I will advise you wait till Tuesday morning and if you don't hear from cic you can now ask for you tuition fee refund but don't tell cic about it, if cic request for another offer after you have asked for tuition refund you can still mail your school to inform them to tell you what next to do. 1 Like |

Mighty men! Greetings and Salut)) I checked the visa officer requirements for applicants applying from Estonia and there is nothing like SOP, meaning they do not require that from applicants from Estonia. My question is will it affect me if I ditch or leave it out? Am working and studying with a lot of stuff on me and I might not be able to write it due to time factor. Thank you for your kind assistance. |

my people, fanshawe has considered me for admission, so if i make a deposit they will forward my admission letter. and my course falls under graduate and professional studies. there was a period an argument came up here that CIC now kind of holds back visa from people that are not going for undergraduate or masters studies..(oh men, expensive sontin) do you think its true? do we professional program seekers still have a chance? or any professional program person recently got his visa? |

Smidase: Firstly, request for your gcms file. https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en Note the reason for refusal. Take steps to tackle the refusal. Then, tackle the reasons with a very BOLD convincing step. Tell God in prayer during the process if you believe Him. Finally, submit your application and remember not to forget that the final decision is from God. Sorry for the delay, God will perfect it this time. Pls, if you find all I said not clear enough, kindly visit page 0 of this thread for better understanding. 1 Like |

Hello House, I got response from CIC today that they are not satisfied i will leave Canada at the end of my stay for the following reasons X-Purpose of visit X - Other reasons - Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employement, level of establishment, or your future plan I need some advice, i have paid full year tuition fee and got convincing sponsor's account I studied English in my first degree, and applied for English as Masters ...but currently working with a Information and management consulting firm as business analyst. I stated in my SOP that i want to be a seasoned analyst and a sociopolitical writer. I was given a study leave and introduction letter from my office .. I submitted application paper on 17th September and got response today for January session I am confused now..i need candid advise from the house, on what and what to do and when to re apply...thanks |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by jnyuwa02: 9:41am On Sep 23, 2017 |
ananaosei: Statement of Explanation is what CIC requires and supports on its application portal online. Statement of Purpose (SOP) a lot of people on here on Nairaland call it, but that is not the official name. Seriously, for Estonia I wont worry writing any Statement of Explanation if there is no time, cos its so darn easy to get Canadian visa there. A friend of mine in that region of the world always tells me how easy it is to go to Canada. We Nigerians have to pass through the valley of the shadows of death. Good luck with your application though. 1 Like |

kunsky80: Sir, Sorry for the delay, like I always say... I fully understand how refusal will be to you but I definitely can't understand how painful it's going to be to you. Sorry for the delay. But if it you were to be VO, with the stringent policy, conditions and guidelines for TRV applicants I believe you will also think it twice if you understand how their policies work. 'I may be wrong' but how will the BOLD above go with your present academic qualifications, present job and future course of study go together? If a novice like me can't understand, I think the VO too doesn't understand. If you are so sure that you are really interested to study, my brother all you have to do is convince the VO. Or else re strategise and reapply in a more convincing manner to the VO. Request for your gcms file and do the needful. Sorry once again, it is well. |

Hello, good morning. I'm interested in studying in Canada and my situation is; 1. I have a 2:2 Bsc in HR 2. I graduated in 09 3. I have practically been doing "voluntary" work for the family business since after NYSC because of some unforeseen circumstances. 4. I recently started my business in interior design. I have been searching really hard for a graduate program in HR, on the other hand, I'm wondering if changing direction and applying for a program to improve on business will give me a better chance with study permit. I am really interested in these aspects of my working life... Please I need your suggestions. And if it is allowed, kindly suggest schools I can apply to. I have searched the internet for so long that I've started going in circles... I feel like my head will burst. Thank you. |
