[size=14pt]Akunyili: Forum Gives Aondoakaa One Week To Resign [/size]

The immediate past Minister for Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa, has been given one week to apologise to Prof. Dora Akunyili and to also submit his letter of resignation from the federal cabinet.

This ultimatum was issued by the Forum for the Defence of Democracy (FDD), a pan-Nigeria civil rights group.

The FDD, which has as its chairman, Captain Mohammed Garba (rtd), a former Kano State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), said Aondoakaa’s recent outbursts in the heat of the controversy generated by President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s sickness shows that he is unfit to remain a minister.

In a short message issued by the FDD chairman, he urged the minister to toe the path of honour.

“The Forum for Defence of Democracy is giving the new Minister for Special Duties, Mr. Michael Aondoakaa, one week to tender an unreserved apology to Prof. Dora Akunyili.

“He should also be courageous to tend his letter of resignation. It is not enough for him to pledge his loyalty to the acting president since the position he took on the health of Yar’Adua is at variance with the present dispensation, moreso, he has maintained that he has no regret on all his actions.”

Garba added that Tiv people were known for their pride and honour. Aondoakaa should demonstrate this by resigning. The forum also wants him to explain what happened to the huge funds voted for prisons decongestion without results.

Haha! I always knew Aondoakaa will end up like this. Let d furnace be heated seven times over so dat he's made to pass thru and let's see what will remain of him.
