Kindly see below job vacancy for Finance Officer in a Nigeria Non-Governmental Organization implementing a donor projects. Position is for Abuja based graduate of accountant. Candidates living within the following areas will be preferable (Asokoro, Garki, Karu, Nyanya, Kurudu, Jikwoyi, Orozo, Maraba). Organization office is located in Karu Site, Abuja. Salary is based on experience, fresh graduates with NYSC certificate can also apply.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Finance Officer

Supervisor: Finance Manager

Location: Country Office Abuja

Finance Officer
• Establish and manage the office financial systems
• Implement the accounting and financial policies to ensure the financial integrity of the program
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly reports and financial statements
• Ensure that the office operates at all times in accordance to donor and organizational finance rules and regulations
• Cash flow forecasting and management
• Provide support in processing of invoices staff retirements/expenses with correct coding, date and authenticated authorization.
• Prepare Transaction Listings before journals are posted.
• Proper filing/archiving of financial reports
• Making timely remittances of statutory deductions to relevant authorities
• Process all requisition and payment to staff and vendors/suppliers
• Support in the preparation of monthly accounts and financial returns

Knowledge and Skills
• B.Sc. or HND in accounting
• Fluency in English, including exceptional written English
• High level of computer literacy (Word and Excel and PEACH TREE essential)
• Ability to prioritize within a multi- tasking environment
• Prior experience in an NGO is an added advantage.
