A police sergeant Mr Donatus {surname with-held}} has been reported to have drowned self in a well in his home around ukwuachi area of Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state.
An eye witness and the deceased neighbor who revealed this to Nowayo news said mr Donatus had last week protested a recent re – deployment to Borno state on an anti-boko haram assignment on ground of age which the source said was nearing retirement.
Nowayo news further learnt that while the discharging officer refused to rescind or alter the posting, mr Donatus opted to take own life instead of going to Borno where his safety was not guaranteed.

The sergeant’s home, report says had remained inundated with sympathizers who call to commiserate with the deceased family.
