There are a million ways through which one could gain residency.

She could have invested in properties, may be the family of a citizen, like her child, etc.
non of the above,if she has investment in her name then she will face same faith as Ibori cos the cost of houses here are so high you as a civil servant in Nigeria can not provide a true Income to support your purchase, hence it is done fru proxy

Come and carry now, you say no.
Okay it may be a smart one since EFCC have been losing cases as a result of the poor investigation and rush rush prosecution they do.
Let UK do as they do before.
EFCC losing cases here in Nigeria has nothing to do with poor investigation but our laws which make our judges rely heavily on Technical evidence.
In UK, they rely on circumstantial evidence which makes prosecution very simple.
Let me help you here:
Circumstantial evidence is if you are found to be richer than what your legitimate earnings should be and you can't explain the source of excess. Then, your going to jail is sure. In Nigeria, that's not enough.
EFCC works hard more than their counterparts anywhere in the world, we just need to re-examine our criminal laws to make prosecution easier like that of UK, USA and China.

Come on now.
She could have bought a simple flat whilst working with shell many years ago entitling her to residency.

At the end this woman might be innocent of everything we accused her of. We have so much used the media to malign get but we are yet to bring any concrete evidence to nail her down
Innocent? If she and others like her (politicians and career officials) were to be truly innocent of mega corruption, Nigeria wouldn't be a hell hole that we have now.
Go figure.. .

She can't stay abroad and be asking to be joined to a case let her come back to Nigeria when she is back she can now ask the FG to give her an audience to say her own. She left the country on her own, why does she need the FG before she can return to the country. Is she not with her Nigeria passport or what?

You guys said she is a thief and she wants to come defend herself but you're now saying No. So Nigerian Government no longer have evidence to put her in jail here?

Its because our justice system are corrupt. Let her receive her judgement over thr.

Respect the wish of majority, we made the right choice.
The case against her in Nigeria has not been opened. She believes that Nigeria is a safe haven for people like her but it is too late. In UK, she will be convicted once she can't explain sources of her many properties (including those ones not in her name but eventually proved that it belongs to her). Unlike in Nigeria where mountains evidence against an accused can't guarantee a two year sentence.
In fact in UK, she has to plead guilty once her trial starts to get a reduced sentence.

Mind explaining why UK authority restricted her movement? Or, you are not aware? Justice is coming to her, slowly but surely. No hidden place for megalomaniac.

Extradition is the act by one jurisdiction of delivering a person who has been accused of committing a crime in another jurisdiction or has been convicted of a crime in that other jurisdiction into the custody of a law enforcement agency of that other jurisdiction. It is a cooperative law enforcement process between the two jurisdictions and depends on the arrangements made between them. Besides the legal aspects of the process, extradition also involves the physical transfer of custody of the person being extradited to the legal authority of the requesting jurisdiction

As I said earlier,

When she finishes her prison term in the U.K. As Ex convict , she will automatically be returned to Nigeria to help in the investigation and she may then be jailed again if found guilty. The minister is talking sense, one thing at a time.
