Atleast it is only in SA where civilians have the rights to open a case against the police for abuse of power. This privilege is unfortunately not enjoyed in Nigeria as police have every right to harass civilians and still get away with it without paying any compensation. Harassment by the police is an order of the day in Nigeria and poor civilians have nobody to speak on their behalf by suing the state, especially where the abuse of power took place.

Exactly, as is the case in every self-respecting democracy.

The article simply serves to demonstrate the strength of our democracy. It's a positive and not a negative.

Deal with the content. Don't come here with your cowardly "sub tweets".

No respectable person ranks Naai-geria above South Africa. That's a fact.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Infact, that tabloid above is a positive report about the government of South Africa. It shows how good is our democracy for not allowing abuse of power by holding all the culprits responsible. It is only in SA where nobody from nowhere can take the minister of police to court to account for the actions of his men. That privilege cannot be enjoyed in Congo, Burundi, Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa other than here in Mzansi.

Nigerian Military lost bitterly at the hands of Boko Haram and worst of all at their own turf. Boko Haram attacked them at their own base and overpowered them to the extent that they set everything ablaze. They proceeded to police station and prison to free their comrades in arms without any difficulty. What a victory to Boko!!

Nigeria, however, responded by recruiting military of neighbouring countries in their so called JTF and the question remains why have they doubted their sole involvement in fighting terrorism? Why did they have to go and acquire help from other countries if they were indeed the most powerful in Africa?

then they make excuses and say they were outnumbered by seleka rebels.

Now that you've accepted that you've made a fo*l of yourself re: the above and your supposed "special invitation", you've decided to shrink into your usual Seleka shell.

Even then, you continue to disgrace your children.

We were in CAR in terms of a bilateral agreement. With the change of guard in CAR, what further business did we have there? What right even, did we have to be in there? We did enough to get our people out and had deployed sufficiently to do whatever was necessary. We weren't on a peace-keeping mission or anything of that sort. This should not have to be explained to you.

You claim to be a researcher but basic concepts and current events allude you.

You idiocy has reached other level. We were fighting Boko Haram kids gloves in the past. Ever since the State of Emergency has been issued BH has been on the run. I hardly call that a loss. You're an ignorant fool.

Did we retreat like you guys did in CAR? Unlike your SANDF, NAF are no cowards.

@bolded, your talk about the MJTF(Multi Joint Task Force). That's not recruitment into our military, their preventing BH from coming into their countries(Chad,Niger,Cameroon) because BH has been present in those respective countries. Again, ignorance....coming from a country who couldn't invade Lesotho.

And another thing, how do you expect a police station to defend against attacks from terrorists with military grade weapons?

And that proves what?

South Africa, the chair of the IONS chose not to go. We aren't even the first country to turn down an invitation. It's not as if when your vessel comes back, your navy will now be able to produce charts. Rankings will stay where they are.

So, South Africa should be asking: "who cares?", in fact.

powerful NNS Aradu...the underestimated firepower of a frigate

augustine :

so how do you mean ? NNS Aradu is today, capable of destroying enemy warships within 100km radius of nigerian ocean waters ?

navy officer :

why not ? i said the ship is active today and reserved for that purpose

augustine :

please explain

navy officer :

as i said, due to nigeria's oil and gas interests at sea, we still have NNS Aradu as a capable defense platform equipped with 8 powerful Otomat anti-ship missile that has a range of 80km and if need arises it can be enhanced to 180km range. Aradu has new radar and new anti-submarine sonar as well as other electronic upgrades, millions of dollars was spent to reactivate the combat power of this ship, and it is done.

if any invading warship moves into nigerian waters up to 100km away from our coast, the many coastal radars we have will guide the Aradu and with any needed air support for targeting, NNS Aradu will fire Otomat anti-shi missiles and sink the enemy warships from a very far away distance.

i dont see any navy in africa taking a risk to threaten nigerian oceans, no one has ever tried it before and after NNS Aradu was commissioned in shagari's era. it is a formidable sea vessel till today, until we replace it a few years from now.

augustine :

so what if the enemy ships too have exocet missiles to counter attack ?

navy officer :

no sub-saharan african navy has an exocet missile to match the 80km to 180km range of NNS Aradu's otomat missile. as i said, no african threat is capable to tackle the Aradu at home, and no country on this continent will try it.

augustine :

so what else can the Aradu do for us ?

navy officer :

i dont like to talk too much with you civilians. lets change topic. so when are you coming back home ?

augustine :

i dont like to talk too much with you military men o ! (laughter). oga how about that car you wanted to buy ? should i find you one here and ship it ? you promised to buy from me. abi you changed your mind ?

We both know that every single word contained in this supposed interview is fictitious. You created it. grin

Unless you have a transcript, there's absolutely no way you could take notes or remember exact statements to that level of detail.
