Does Nigeria have Submarines? No

We spend more than Nigeria can only dream of in Military expenditure.

FACT! Nigeria still receives gifts at this age and era, you remain the biggest America's charity case. Our new ANC government has never received anything from America that concern military.

You obviously spend wastefully, whereas Nigeria spends with wisdom, tact, and on a needs or threat based order of priority! We don't have permanent cold storage space for hardware and crafts that are surplus to requirement like SANDF. You think you spend more ... but how has that impacted on your misadventures to CAR and DRC?

We received gifts and have put the gifts into good use, but you received currently much older gifts decades ago and have not deemed them obsolete enough for replacement! Your Dakotas cannot compare to Nigeria's brand new Alenia ATR surveyors. Fully paid for ... so why can't your so called military budget afford replacements for those third-hand aircoffins?

Does Nigeria need submarines? YES! Do we need them now? NO! Can we destroy your submarines? Try us and see!

Your ANC blablabla ... Anyways, we have discussed this several times over ... not worth recycling again! Enjoy!

Sorry you have to say why. I mean nigeria has half the budget of SA and doubel the force. Only enough IFV for barely a battlion, crapy fighters, only a small arms manfacoty abliety. Basicaly you are behind SA in every respect.

I mean, I just had to go back to this post. The F-7NI may not be a 4 GEN fighter, however, that plane is far from crappy. The nigerian F-7ni is of the same class as the pakistani F-7PG. We have shown enough evidence to prove this point.

On the point of IFV's, your assertion is made on an ignorant stand point. Nigeria has a huge number of IFV's ( otokar cobra, oskosh sandcat MRAP, womag(whatever the spelling is), piranha, panhard AML and other tracked variants). What we currently lack is a huge number of AFV's in the class of the badger or stryker( and their russian and french variants).

Our BTR3's numbers as listed are certainly not enough, our panhard sagaie APV's actual numbers are not known. Based on the information available, it is not out of place to say we require additional AFV's.

we don't have submarines but our navy have gone for countless anti submarine warfare training. hence, we have the capability to destroy your submarines.

military budget doesn't translate to strong military tactics. there are many gulf arab states that spend more than israel in defense but cried for help just to quell a crisis which they have money to tackle in their backyard.

this is one of the reasons why we call you south africans liars and hypocrites. your government receives more US military aid than Nigeria. they help you maintain all your shiny equipment you bought and can't maintain yourselves.

US military aid supports SAAF C-130s
According to an official from the US military’s Africa Command (Africom), most of the $750 000 per year of the US government’s Foreign Military Financing (FMF) grant money is used to support Hercules aircraft, and includes things like buying spares and providing aircrew training. Aircrew use simulators in the United States to practice emergency procedures that would be too risky with real aircraft.

In 2010 and 2011 South Africa was scheduled to receive $800 000 in Foreign Military Financing, according to the US Department of State. Foreign Military Financing to South Africa topped out at around $1 million but now stands at around $750 000 per annum, according to the Africom official.

Other foreign military financing goes towards the South African Navy - money goes towards an adaptor on a submarine hatch collar, the official said.

Who said that we spend wastefully? We surely don't because we must protect our oceans and airspace. Look what is happening now in Naaigeria where pirates and insugents have found themselves comfort zone. Thus, do you want SA to become part of statistics, surely that is not the course we want to take.

If you speak about C-130s we received that long time ago when I was not even born. Nigeria is still America's Charity case, that's a fact. Deal with it.

Your National budget is too small, even smaller than South Africas Gauteng province alone.

Look at the post above yours! Like I said, you are just recycling points that have been dealt with long ago! You never learn! Why not talk about your third-hand Dakotas? Well, contrary to your fraudulent opinion ... pirates and insurgents are not safe in Nigerian territories ... they may launch forays and attacks from weaker countries but there's no hiding place in Nigeria where our armed forces have been doing excellently. Small budget? What has your "big budget" done for you? Defeat in CAR and potential defeat in DRC should the Tanzanians leave the scene suddenly!! Good answer. That been said, I still think SANDF is a poorly trained force. I mean look at the photos I earlier pasted(in my thread) of your SAPS, we could all see clearly that they are not properly trained.

However, you lost in CAR. Act like men, and accept your defeat. No gain in this continuous denial.

That was a media event, basically it was just a show, regardless SAPS is not the SANDF and training is very different.

Mission objective was to protecting certain high end equipment and the training team. other than one comms sytem lost the primary and secondary objectives were met

That remains wasteful ... no use! No qualified pilots. I could go on! Why are you waiting to take Rooivalks and hardware to DRC if not because your SANDF is insisting that the UN must pay immediately for the cost of the deployments. That's the difference between Nigeria and your South Africa. Nigeria deploys men and hardware first ... at our own cost and asks for UN reimbursement later. So much for South African "big budget"! cool

That ratio remains a fraud like everything else SANDF on the African continent. How come you are unable to repeat the same feat in DRC. Stop your lies please!

The Boko Haram issue is more of a Policing item than a military matter. They only cowardly go about killing civilians using civilian appearances! The military engageed them and dislodged them and have held ground since the SoE declaration. That's a strong military for you! We do not retreat. Boko Haram has retreated, evaporated and gone underground across nearby Camerounian territory! The work to be done here is in intelligence gathering and civilian/regular police action! Military intelligence is at work, that's why the Army has largely succeeded! Help yourself now!

Not qualified pilot but yet are far better than Nigerian pilots. A country that does not even have a civilian Airline because people are scared of flying proudly Nigerian Airline. There's a huge difference between offensive and defensive. South Africa in CAR were merely defensive and simply defended their lives to the extent that the enemy raised the flag. In DRC, SA were on offensive mode to push the enermy back in position until the enemy retreated. That's all.
