Symbae: With your BRP, you are good to go with Starling. You do not need Proof of address (or at least, I did not need any). |

Symbae: If you have a Nigerian TIN, then you can choose tax resident in another country....this will help you bypass submitting proof of address...you can use your BRP and Nigerian tax identity number to open the account |

Ceesnation:I used to live in Surrey, lovely neighbourhood all through the county. But really expensive. Easy to get around without driving, less traffic disruption. Good education facilities and a lot more, on the bill though. It's a nice place to live in after you have settled in and make some quid. Other locations that you mentioned, I have no clue. Best Regards. QS. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Lack of maintenance culture. Apologies to the OP, I didn't want to create a new thread for this. So permit me to just drop this here. I was in the Nigerian house few days ago, it was really cold outside so when I got in, I wanted to use the Gent. Lo and behold, it was all broken. The WC flush handle for the two of the cubes was broken and the third one was locked, with a tag on it. BROKEN. Thankfully the Urinal were not blocked so I did my business, wash my hands. Took some pictures and left. I know I should have complained, but to who exactly? If you have been in Nigeria house recently or you plan to attend. Just visit the convenience at the basement. You will see what I have seen. 2 Likes |

Soknown: Anytime my Nigerian passport comes up for renewal I start to get panic attacks at the thought of going to the Nigerian embassy, nothing works there it’s frustrating some of the staff are very rude. it’s just like being in Nigeria. So sad 5 Likes |

Rubyventures: Insightful. By any chance, do you know what the status of the income earned by a Tier 4 dependant would be? I gather than my earnings by way of salary from Nigeria, which are taxed here, might/will be exempt from tax in the UK? What about earnings from side businesses/rental property etc., which is generally not taxed (or rather upon which no tax is generally paid in Nigeria) - any idea what the tax treatment in the UK would be? |

Soknown: The House of Horror on Northumberland Avenue. I will be fellowshipping with them sometime next year - my passport is just about full - and I'm already dreading the experience. 1 Like |

Soknown: The last time I was there was in 2012 to reissue my passport, which has since expired. Not looking to renew anytime soon. I see a lot of posts about people seemingly in desperation to renew passports, I must be the odd one out as mine expired years ago and I have no immediate need to renew it. The Nigerian embassy in London is a representation of Nigeria. The good, the bad and the ugly. 1 Like |

TheGuyFromHR:Dreadful indeed. I paid for the renewal in June. I was informed to come for the biometric this week. When I got tired of waiting without any explanation. I mailed the High commissioner, the deputy high commissioner then the secretariat or something virtually all the mail address on the contact list. Not one replied. |

umarwy:I am not sure of the elevator, but there is no disabled access or modified access for a wheelchair or a stretcher. May be its somewhere hidden from sight. You know our leaders like to hoard and hide things. 1 Like |

fatima04: Even if you plan ahead, how do you answer that special call of nature............. My advice - : Take an overdose of laxido, insert a flexi-seal rectal tube, insert a catheter, take some fluids and snacks........ You would not have the need to stand up at all............ 1 Like |

Soknown: I was asking sarcastically, I was there earlier this year, The elevator wasn't functional (even if it was it's not directly accessible as it's behind there counter after a locked door. I couldn't count how many parents had to carry their kids pushchairs down to the basement. And up to the first floor as well. I kept on wondering how a wheelchair user would renew his/her passport. |

Hello sir/ma Please where can I buy fresh beef organs (shaki, heart, kidney e.t.c.) popularly called 'inu eran' in the western part of Nigeria, in UK. I am heading to Birmingham. I once lived in Sheffield but I could only get fresh liver at the market. I never came across others, are they banned or i have to get it directly from a butcher? I could get frozen shaki but nothing pass to chop fresh one I will be glad, if anyone based in Birmingham can help out. 2 Likes |

LagosismyHome: Thanks sis for remembering me, this story is quite sad oo. Is that not being stuck in negative equity? Does building insurance cover this type of loss? I believe they will find some clause to wriggle out of it sha. For discussion sake how could this happen in a country with too many regulations in place. The solicitors messed up big time because they would have known about it and done their due diligence. 1. The lawyers do their searches and reports from the local council who presents the reports and let's you know if there is planning permission, the restrictive covenants surrounding the plots and all. So the lawyers PII should be partly responsible for that. 2. Should the NHBC also approve such property and issue the satisfactory certificate. They sef can be sued, its within 10 years. 3. The RICS valuer should have been aware as well, if Japanese knotweed that has been excavated and treated can affect the sale and value, then why not an harmful gas. He/she has the PII in place, so definitely they can make a complaints and get some money back. 4. The company that went into administration as well. 1 Like |

LagosismyHome: Abi oo, na the people wey it hit go sabi. At least there are still some mechanisms in place to protect although it will take a while making those claims. Patience, research and resilience for new build is needed sha, my experience loading soon. On a lighter note sef, government too don loose their 20% equity niyen oo |
