Dear friend I am asking on behalf of a friend, He lives in Ghana why his wife lives in the UK, the wife is a British citizen but not yet ready to bing her hubby to the UK bc she has not met her financial requirement for spouse visa. The hubby wants to visit her this Xmas , can he apply for visiting visa? Will the ECO ask why he doesn't want to join his wife? I learnt that some people have been refused visa bc of saying their partner is in the UK. Pls house how can he convince the ECO, that he is only visiting and will not overstay bc of his wife. I will appreciate responses. Thank you |

Monmarri: Is this all with same employer.... I would say work just one more month while preparing all the documentation. With the last story that will tip it above 18k then you are good to go Alternative what the salary before April.... |

AltCtrlDel:Let him apply for jobs directly, there is no need for him to come to study as he is an experienced professional in a field in demand. Tell him to explore the upcoming PBS route which will start in January. And apply for jobs directly! The Msc route sounds unnecessary to me, he has a lot of potential! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Monmarri: By having a job and other strong ties to his country of residence. If he is working in a good company and/or has a property or “asset” in his country of residence, the ECO would know that his visit is legit because he must return to his job. Also, In the letter, he could also explain that he doesn’t intend to move to the UK for now as the wife hasn’t met the requirement. ECOs would only reject if he doesn’t have a strong tie or if he isn’t financially buoyant for the trip. |

Monmarri: Doesnt matter if it wasnt much...if march to october the previous year plus this 6 months adds up to 18k you are good to go Alternatively wait one month and start gathering all the other documentation so they once that salary kicks in then good to go |

Yeah I do this yearly, I call them and say I got a cheaper quote somewhere else. 9 out of 10 they will ask you how much have u been quoted. That’s where I enter them and we begin the negotiations. It works RalphJean: 3 Likes 3 Shares |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by omopapa: 7:06pm On Oct 12, 2020 |
Yes ur insurance is still valid for 12months but they have squeezed ur quote into 10 months making it seem like you have last 2 months free It is cheaper to pay in full than pay monthly. You can use 0% APR credit card to pay and then make monthly payment to repay the credit card. RalphJean: 1 Like 2 Shares |

Once I compare the market, I tell them I got a better offer. If them dey talk rubbish, I switch to the lowest which has been less than £400 yearly. Loyalty (to these companies) can be expensive mate RalphJean: 2 Likes 1 Share |

LagosismyHome: It is only six months payslips they require . They will use your six months to calculate not 8 months as I was told |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by LagosismyHome(f): 5:05am On Oct 13, 2020 |
Monmarri: Ok.just had a look at the guidance document. It is 69 pages so no power to read it in details this early morning.. But I think you are right and probably good to go regarding using 6 month to calculate what the annual income might be . Based on 16k in 6 months would mean like 32k annual salary which is over the 18k. However make sure you read that guidance and absolutely sure that it's ok to proceed |

The problem with Tier 1 visa is it takes a long time to find an employer brave enough to go through the hassle. Tech Nation is serious hassle with a very low level of guaranteed success and finally T1 direct visa salary is also guaranteed to be about 20% less than market rate. To be fair that helps cover the legal cost of sorting out the visa for the company. Haven't said that, if he can get T1 directly, then he should definitely consider it. Teemez: |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by dustydee: 8:10am On Oct 13, 2020 |
tennyalad:I thought for tier 1 you do not need a job offer and can work for any employer unlike tier 2 which is tied to a particular employer? It is also cheaper to apply than tier 2 (although the employer absorbs the tier 2 visa cost). Tier 1 will be his best route if he can get endorsement. |
