Giving Back To Society. by RayHushPuppi: 10:04am On Nov 25, 2017
Good morning Nairaland...

I had this crazy idea this morning on doing something for the needy in society but as you know, I can't reach them (downtrodden) on social media. So I'm calling on you all to suggest ways that I can reach out to those really in need from Makurdi to Abakiliki, from Ilesha to Okrika. I plan on reaching at least 500 people with the aim of setting up businesses for them.

The 3 best suggestions I get, I will gift them 150,000 each. Good luck guys! Merry Christmas!

I run a seeming educative/charity org but its been on hold coz of funds. The last i did was at katsina state for students, and the prices was for schools while student prizes were payment of their school fees for the next term.
I plan another but the proposals to our lagos politicians aint yielding. u can reach me on emjayinitiative@gmail.com if you can help and you could also help sole-proprietors in your locality by buying their machines/business materials for them, especially the youths.

Sir, any amount i receive from you will go a long way as to adding the little i have in setting a business which deals in selling of both male and female wears. To see that i'm sufficient enough in taking care of my school needs and to better the lifes of others.

If you really wanna give to the society, you have to decide on a particular part of the society u wanna base on. It could be homeless children, needy student, artisans and to be artisans, business idealist etc.

Having decided, you come up with a plan which include;

There are different organizations to reach out to them.

Orphanage Homes - Heal the World Mission
www.healtheworldmission.org.ng › orphan

firstly:
You could set up a group of people to visit those towns and places to check it out first .
Secondly:
keep in mind the genres of people you want to reach out to.
Lastly:
Division in diversity would get it done faster and bring about productivity in the best possible way.

I don't have the time to move from place to place.

that is where bringing about a committee of volunteers comes in.
People that would be willing to do the rally round on your behalf.
Here is option A.
Here are a few panels in the said locations you stated they could visit:

Save The Child Motherless / Abandoned Babies HomeContact Person: Chief H.C Mela (KSG, jp)Address:Area N, Zone 3, Near St. John's Ang. Church, World Bank Housing Estate, Owerri, Imo State.Phone Number: (+234) 8033159926, 8053565849.(Jos)

Adonia Orphanage Home & Widows CenterContact Person: Rev(Mrs.) Elizabeth AfuwapeWebsite: http://www.adonaiorphanage.orgAddress: 1, Silama Close, Gwari Avenue Barnawa Crescent, P.O Box 3460, Kaduna.Phone Number: (+234) 8034531977, 8028141398

El-Shaddai Children's HomeContact Person: Mrs. Felicia Ben - AmehAddress: El- Shaddai Spacial Hospital, Plot 2319, Kanshio, Makurdi.

Option B
If you aren't looking to give to orphanages you could look up those areas with people with small but promising businesses and help them expand.

The question is what genre of people are you looking to reach out to?
Students, women, adults, kids?

After deciding,
best way to reach out to them is to have people go those locations and survey,
see and meet them up front,
then pick out the ones with the highest vast and condition to be reached out to,

Or you could make up a definite location for people to come to on a said particular day.
It could run for a day or a few days depending on the turn out

I suggest you employ people to run around and do the survey for you. Then you fund it. Run it as your own Foundation not via a third party.

If you really want to give back to society, the best way is to first sample the area to determine what type of peoples you want to help, maybe students, unemployed peoples, street guys, market women etc. by this you can now decide on what you want to do, if they are students, you can give scholarship. for unemployed peoples, you can organise contest maybe talent show and you can donate charity to orphanage home.
Anyhow you do it..Best of luck!

Noticed that a lot of nairalanders pay more attention here than other sections. Edakun you people should patronize. I'm into interior decorations. Check my thread. I just started and my works are high quality and affordable. Regardless of state, we deliver.
Thanks

Set up foundation in your name, and looks for volunteers who are trustworthy because nigerians are very cunny, and let them go out and survey and give u feedbacks, moreover you can visit market places, u will see people with burning desire to succeed but lacks fund, u can assist them, you can visit hospitals and help pay bills, there are many people In hospitals around the country who have been held for many years because of lack of fund to pay bills, u will happy to give them hope again.
