felixomor: I guess you need new English lessons. Let me define what after the order and similitude means. It is a term that means a person or thing resembling someone or something else. Christ cannot be compared to any priesthood made by mere humans who offered sacrifices on behalf of other to remove sins. The bible points out that human priestood cannot remove sins (because it was imperfect) but was a foreshadow of the greater sacrifice that was to come which is Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice or priesthood removed sin for all time. Just as you can find written in Hebrews 8:4-5New International Version (NIV) 4 If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”[a
Is Tithe is compulsory for christians, Yes or No? It is not compulsory, which is No as you said. I'll give God anything I want. I can give him 10%, 30% or 100%. I'm am not binder by any law, that is what the bible says. Tithe is a compulsory 10% which is not a Christian teaching. True Christians are admonished to give freely not under compulsion or under grudge or to a point where it hurts them. God doesn't need my anything btw. He made law for 10% tithe because of the levites who were serving at the temple. It was not a provision to enrich them but to support them just as it was a provision to support the poor. They are no levites today, so tithing has been abolished by the new law. Pastors under the guise of church and helping the people fend them slaves off from the poverty and riches of their church goers. First century apostles, Paul, Peter and even Jesus didn't need to leave big or wealthy to serve the Lord. They even avoided donation from church members by taking care of their own needs. 2 Likes 1 Share |

felixomor: Don't be stupid or childish. I'm not your mate when it comes to the Bible. Since we've been discussing how many bible reference have you made to back your claim. Every point you are trying to make I already know where you are headed. I'm just waiting for you to land let know where your spiritual brain needs unlocking. Or didn't you see the portion I stated that clearly explains that human priesthood was a resemblance of the greater priesthood. Hebrews 8:4-5New International Version (NIV) 4 If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. I see some desperate clergies trying so hard to defend the tithing thing. I think this is needless as there are more pressing and important issues in the christendom. I see a beautiful distraction from 'matters at hand'. The person who raise this tithing saga has hit a spot as more clergymen continue to point its necessities. |

The perfect thing is 100%, not 30% Mark 10:17-31New Living Translation (NLT) The Rich Man 17 As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked. “Only God is truly good. 19 But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother.’[a]” 20 “Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.” 21 Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 At this the man’s face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions. 23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!” 24 This amazed them. But Jesus said again, “Dear children, it is very hard[b] to enter the Kingdom of God. 25 In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!” 26 The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked. 27 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.” 28 Then Peter began to speak up. “We’ve given up everything to follow you,” he said. 29 “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, 30 will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life. 31 But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.[c]” |

Mac2016: There you are. You still don't get it. The argument is that there's no scriptural backing telling Christians to tithe . Malachi is old covenant. No new covenant scripture instructed Christians to tithe. Covenant is a strong word and must be used according to its meaning. Even the present Jews that the law of moses was given to don't pay tithe again to Levites in this century not to talk of Christians that are under grace of Jesus who was of the tribe of Judah. And lastly go and read Malachi from chapter 1. Read chapter 2 also before you read 3, then you'll see that the much used Malachi was originally directed to the priests and levites, before you even talk of congregation of Israel. These tinx are simply biblical understanding. That you've heard tithing for decades from the pulpit doesn't make it right no matter how great the pastor. And take note of 1 Corinthians 8:2. 1 Like 1 Share |

...many things to say, ...but I will stick to this .... when has it become a doctrine for people to disclose the percentage tithe they are giving. This is no longer a teaching or declaration, it is an argument of ego. Who is right and who is wrong. And we don't care as Nigerians, people will do what they still want to do and vice versa, so this tantrum between Apostle Suleiman and Daddy Freeze is just a Social Media trending feed that will die down really soon. They should understand that we are enjoying the "Debate" but we don't care and many of us are just passing by . So they should continue...but this time around they should better come on public TV, head to head to make this "Debate" official. WINNER GET 50 THOUSAND LIKES!!!!!!! |
